CORKAS Can Opener, The Smooth Edge Can Opener for Food and Other Kinds of Cans and Tins with Easy Open Ergonomic Designed Stainless Steel Handheld for Seniors, Arthritic and Others

I wanted a can opener which opened cans with a clean edge and one that did not touch the food inside the can, and after using this can opener on a wide variety of cans I can truely say this does both. In operation it is smooth and cuts well. Why then have I only awarded 2 stars? I was very disappointed to find after 10 months of very light use - opening 1 - 2 cans per week, the turning handle has now broken. I discovered this half way through opening a can, so I had to get a pair of plyers and turn the nut which is usually covered by the turning handle to open the can fully. Whilst doing this I discovered how much pressure is needed to turn the nut, a lot! In fact it demanded so much pressure that I question the logic in using thin plastic to wrap around the nut rather than a solid plastic handle or even better, a metal handle. I cannot see this can opener lasting more than say 100 cans before handles start to break which is a shame as in all other respects it is a fine piece of kit.

I like the fact that the tin has a smooth edge and I don’t have to worry when I put it into my recycle waste. When it arrived, there is a little line mark on the plastic bit of the opener and I though the product finishing need to be improved. Upon the first use it took a little time to get the opener to cut into the tin. I was almost thinking it wasn’t going to work, but after 2 rounds the top cane off smooth when I ‘reversed’ the opener. I like this product and would recommend to my daughters at University.

I had one of these type of can openers for many years (German brand bought from QVC)Worked brilliantly, no sharp edges and would open pretty much any can you could find, even square tins like corned beef.Unfortunately after years of use it gave up the ghost. I've tried to find exact replacement but to no avail.I found this exact opener on amazon but with a different brand name on, hoping to get another 10+ yrs out of a new one I purchased it. All was well at first then after a few months it just stopped opening cans.So again I was back on the hunt, I then found this one, looked similar to the last one but with the promise of high quality components I was hoping this would be the one.Unfortunately on first use of this, I had to go around the can 3 times and the lid was still attached to the can in several places.Very disappointed, love the safety aspect of these types of openers but can't find one that actually works anymore.Do not buy, waste of time and moneyProbably cheaply made in china then sold to various companies to add their own branding.Please amazon STOP SELLING CRAP THAT DOESNT WORK.

I am absolutely delighted with this can opener! It is easy to sit on the can, and needs only a tiny bit of work to turn the handle round. What is great is that the lid and body of the can are perfectly safe after use. The safety aspect is important to me as I sliced my finger badly on a hopeless can opener some years ago, and I have had some expensive 'top of the range' ones. This is better than any of them.

So far so good.Used maybe 20 times.Best is opening ring pull cans like baked bean and all the content comes out instead of getting caught on the lip.6 months in and still working great. Bought another for my mum

The media could not be loaded.  My last can opener fell apart. This Corkas works great, opened a can in less than 10 seconds as shown in the video. Has a great quality feel to it and made to last.I love that the lid of the can is cut around the sides and in such a way which leaves no sharp edges which is much safer and prevents cuts.

Does the job when you get the hang of it. Took a few tries but got used to it. Nice not having sharp edges left after opening the tin.
