My husband and I play chess all the time and my two year old got interested. Got this for her for Christmas (celebrated a little early) and she loves it! the pieces are big enough I don't have to worry about her swallowing them (or even fitting them in her mouth) The board is made out of a much thicker material than I had thought and looks like it will stand the test of time.

This is fun for everyone, the board is 50" 1/2 x 36".The king is six inches tall, the pieces are steady, the board lays flat on the floor, it comes with 4 sticks (plastic screws ? ) to secure the board to the ground. Overall it is a nice chessboard set. For outside fun or at home. Thank you for reading.

The size was exactly what I wanted. The board is lightweight and seems like it will be easy to clean off if something is ever spilled on it. The reverse side is like a foil. Kind of reminds me of the windshield reflectors for cars. This would be great at the beach or a picnic at the park.DislikesThe board didn't want to stay fully unfolded after being boxed up so long. I think I would have preferred a rubber mat that could have been rolled, yet layed flat. After keeping it out for a while it was ok. The pieces were super light. The problem was when the board was pushing up at the creases from being folded, the pieces fell over. Considered drilling holes in the bottom to fill will some sand the. Covering the hole. Haven't tried that yet.

So I ordered this chess set to go in our froyo/cupcake store. We have a jumbo-sized chess/checker concrete board and I needed the chess pieces. I really did not need the chess board but it came as a package. The plastic chess pieces are black and off-white in color. They are hollow and very lightweight and because many of our customers are kiddos, they are perfect. These work great for what we need. The chess board is very good quality and we use it at some point. Our customers love playing checkers and chess in our store and these jumbo-sized pieces really are fun for our customers to play with.

Ordered it as a surprise. Once I opened it up and showed a 8 yrs old how jumbo this game was he was super excited to play. The game comes with a nice board to play on that folds up. Seems pretty durable. We often take it to our back yard and play with it by our camp fire we have down by our creek. Super handy it’s rugged enough to play out side and with the jumbo pieces they won’t get lost in the grass. We make it back with all the parts every time. Really helps not loosing anything outdoors. The actually game pieces them self are a little light weight but I guess it’s fair for the price. I been thinking of adding something to them to make them a little heavier. Over all kids find this game fun to play. When we invite other families over and all the adults are busy seems to stay pretty active with kids taking turns.

I have ordered this item and it was missing pieces. I sent it back and my replacement set is now missing pieces. Won’t order again!

I did get the correct pieces the second time, seems a lot of shipments on this product are missing something.I did add sand for weighting and glued neoprene circles on the bottom (from mouse pad material) of each piece and it is now exactly what I want. A bit of extra effort, but still believe it is a good value when all is said and done.I like the size, not too small or too big for camping & the beach. The plastic is sturdy enough. I did receive two black Kings and no Queen, hence the 3 stars. Hopefully the next shipment gets it right. I plan on adding a bit of sand to each for weight, but that's worth the effort given the price.

Light weight. Awesome. Fun for family time indoors and outside. Easy to tote around although it doesn’t come with a bag so, buy a storage bag. Great sizes. Kind of thin plastic, but that’s what makes it light weight!
