I frequently have extremely painful chapped lips.My anxiety worries at them, biting and ripping pieces of them off until they bleed.I also love my drying matte lipsticks that not even chapped, bleeding lips can keep me from.It sometimes gets so bad that there's layers of skin missing.I've tried lots of lip ointments and medicated balms and this is the only one that I feel instantly better upon application.This one has FOUR medicines in it:1) Camphor - analgesic/pain reliever (this is the only active ingredient in most Carmex)2) Dimethicone - lip protectant (this is the only active ingredient in Blistex lip balm; it's a type of silicone found in many hair conditioners and provides a layer to protect the skin)3) Menthol -analgesic/pain reliever4) Phenol - analgesic/pain relieverIt applies in a thin layer and sometimes needs to be re-applied a few times, but I INSTANTLY feel some relief as soon as it's applied.After a few hours, my lips are significantly better.I swear by this and I'm so thrilled I found this product.I love it so much that I completely used an entire tube.(This is rare for my ADHD self as I am always losing things and almost never complete a balm, but I digress.)If you're a fellow lipstick lover, this product can also be used five minutes prior to lipstick application. This helps alleviate the drying effect many lipsticks have as well as provides a more smooth texture.

This is one of the products that are absolutely indispensable to me. I have been using it for many years.Since the mid-80s I have been living in the Caribbean, much of the time on a cruising sailboat, where the sun dries the skin year around and salt air is also a factor.. Using this product each day once or twice prevents my lips from drying, chapping, cracking.Prior to moving to the Caribbean, I was an avid downhill skier. That also took a toll on my lips. But using this product daily kept the lip skin in good condition.Before trying this ointment, I tried a number of products, such as ChapStick and others like it. They not only didn't help, some caused an allergic reaction. It was with great relief that i found Blistex Medicated Ointment.We all have more than enough problems to deal with in our daily lives. But for me, dry and chapped lips is no longer one of them.

I have always used carmex chapstick because it really works. My lips are always chapped even in the summertime so I always have a tube with me. My daughter gave me a tube of the blistex medicated lip ointment one day. I had never tried it before because I thought it was only for cold sores but it is great for chapped lips also. I usually put it on at night before I go to bed and I actually wake up with my lips moisturized instead of dry any chapped like they normally are. I still use my carmex during the day but I don't have to apply it as much.

I've used this medicated lip balm for years and it works pretty well. it does go on white which is a little odd, but you just need to make sure that you really rub it in well. it seems to work for a few days and then maybe starts to not be so great, so i think its meant as something you don't use all the time, just when your lips are really chapped and need a medicated product. overall i really like this stuff and think it works well. not the greatest taste but just try not to lick your lips haha.

I saw this as a recommendation from a blogger with medical degree. I can not say how grateful I am for this discovery. It totally recovered chapped lips and awful "wound" I tend to get in corner of lips in severe colds and law humidity. I advice this to every one, who wants to restore their lips. The pack is really small, don't be surprised. I don't think it's smth you are to use every day as a routine treatment and moisture, but I'll gladly finish this pack, pretending I need it desperately) Though after 3rd application I can normally switch to some simply hygienic stick. I highly recommend this product, and I got it as recommended to choose the one that is the "medical lip ointment", not any other!

Remember in the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", how the dad was always putting Windex on stuff? Well, that's me with Blistex. Cut-Blistex, Zit-Blistex, Burn-Blistex, Chapped Lips-Blistex, Hot Spot on my dog's ankle-BLISTEX. I'm no doctor/vet, but I've been doing this since high school (like 20 years now) and I'm still alive and so is my dog. I swear this stuff is a cure-all.

I will not be without Blistex. This has been my go-to for healthy lips for years. I've tried other things and cannot stand the waxy feeling most of them leave ... NEVER the case with Blistex. It penetrates the lips and keeps them moist, supple and healthy.
