Poron Flame Retardant Cellular Urethane Foam Gasket Tape

If you are building dry boxes for river rafts or replacing the seal on a dry box,forget that stuff that you can buy at the hardware store, this is what you need! I recently fabricated a pair of aluminum dry boxes in advance of rafting the Grand Canyon and used this Poron Gasket Material as the gasket around the lid. It worked great and all my stuff inside the dry boxes stayed dry, even when taking on large volumes of water. This stuff is the best!

Quite happy with the foam. I used this to replace the foam on the air conditioning assembly in my jeep. It sealed all of the passages nicely. The tape sticks well when you clean the surface first. The tape doesn't stick very well to rough surfaces. I added some superglue to mine in order to make it stick better to the rough surfaces. I didn't have any issues on smooth surfaces though.

I like this sticky back foam gasket. I bought it for a metal cabinet for welding and it really sticks and the foam is very tough. It feels the same material as the soft black foam that they use on roll bars and refrigeration lines.

Sticky side of tape on wrong side.The adhesive tape was applied backwards. The non-stick side was adhered to the foam, and the sticky side was the part that was removed.I spent 30 minutes prepping the surface for application, only to find out that it was unusable.

Nice roll of foam tape! I used it on a Chevy Colorado instrument panel when I rebuilt it. I used it to seal between the defroster duct and the vent opening as well as along the front edge where it touches off to the glass. Foam is fairly stiff but can still be compressed some. A lot of tape for the money.

Sticky back foam is working great for the back venting interface-gasket, between my oven and the exhaust duct work. A couple other air conditioning vent doors have also been rimmed with this tape although the need for flame retardant tape may be unjustified.
