Very sturdy. Love it
I got this flip line for a double tie in when cutting branches in a tree. I also use it to remain tied into the tree when I disconnect my climbing line to throw into a different crotch in the tree. I love it. One end of the flipline has a very heavy duty snap hook and the other is a rope grab with a heavy duty carabiner. The carabiner is a triple auto lock. you have to pull the gate up then twist it around before you can then open it. AFter letting go of the gate it automatically locks. this inspires confidence and safety. The carabiner is also very heavy duty and feels like it would take a ton of force to break. The rope grab is mediocre I guess. To be fair htey have another product called 'better' rope grab. I didn't go for that one. the rope grab is one directional. so you can simply pull the rope to tighten up. In order to loosen up you open up on the rope grab and you're able to move the rope through. It works and does the job but it's not the smoothest operation ever. I may replace it with a prusik loop we'll see.At first I was worried about the snap hook, but it does have a safety lock. if you try to ope the snap hook it won't open. you first need to hold the back of the snap hook before it can open. this inspires a lot more confidence in the safety so I don't mind using it at all. Also the snap hook adds a bit of weight to the rope which is a good thing. when throwing the rope around the tree the snap hook is very easy to get around the tree becasue of the weight. and it's really easy to hook and unhook the snap hook to your saddle which is very important because you need to keep tying to different parts of the tree. The flipline itself is very sturdy and confidence inspiring. It is very comfortable to hold and maneuver and feels very substantial. I have heard some people say that metal core flip lines are no safer than rope fliplines but I know this is not true. you can youtube search multiple people (Jake/Treeson from eastside tree works for example) that sacrifice many of their fliplines to test their fortitude. Steel core flip lines can take a lot of force from a hand saw and a little bit of force from a chainsaw. the rope fliplines in contrast will break at the smallest little nick from a chainsaw. After seeing this I knew that steel core was the only way to go.

Frayed after only TWO palm trees. TWO!!!
I only used this 2 times and it's already fraying. That's $50 per palm tree I climbed. Not a good value. Can't anyone make a flip line that can stand up to a Mexican Fan Palm?

Ease of use
Received Better Grab Kit Flip line a few days ago, needed for replacement of older flip line. Just wanted to say that the ease of use was amazing! very well crafted, and heavy duty everything. I do allot of climbing and cutting daily, if you are looking for a quality, reliable piece of equipment to use, I highly recommend ProClimb
