Urban CoCoWomen's Elastic Waist Plaid Pleated Skirt Tartan Skater School Uniform Mini Skirts

The construction of this skirt is top notch, and though the under skirt is a bit odd (almost makes it feel like you're wearing a pencil skirt), it's not a big detraction. The elastic waist makes this very comfortable and the length is great, hitting above the knee (I was afraid it would be too short and look like club wear). Colors are very pretty and it launders easily.

I bought this skirt to complete a Mizore from Rosario Vampire cosplay. (The original skirt that came with it was cute but way too short for my height - pictured here is the Urban Coco yellow series.) Shopping for something specific on a budget is rough...but then I found this Urban Coco skirt!Based on previous experiences with online shopping for bottoms, I was a bit skeptical. However, this skirt style had a ton of reviews and most were positive. (The search by height or weight options made it easier to find the info I needed for it.) So I decided to take the plunge and ordered it!Here are my experiences with it.PERSONAL STATS - I am about 5'8" and currently weigh in at the 190s.SKIRT CHOICE - Yellow series, size XXLCOLOR - it looks yellow and black in photos, but is actually yellow and NAVY. If you are trying to match something to black, this may not work for you.FIT - I am a curvy gal with a pear shaped body type. I typically avoid pleated skirts for that reason, but found this one to be surprisingly flattering to my body type! The waist is SUPER comfortable because of the stretch band, which I LOVE! If my weight goes up or down a bit (still working on getting it down), I'm pretty confident that this will still fit me.LENGTH - This is where the description does not match up. Supposedly, this is a "knee-length" skirt. Not even close, but maybe I'm taller than they expected when they wrote the size chart. The ONLY way it reaches my knees is when I pull the waistband UNDER my belly button. When I wear it at a comfortable waist position, it still comes above the knees in front (and a bit higher in the back thanks to my booty). However, it STILL covers everything to my modest desires in this position! (No fan-service moments from this cosplayer.) Due to personal preferences, I will probably wear beige/nude leggings underneath to be safe, but most people are probably more comfortable in skirts in public than I am.SLIP UNDERLAYER - This part had me a little nervous based on other reviews. Let me start by saying DON'T TUG ON IT. It seems delicate and I dont want to rip it out by pulling on it instead of the skirt. Yes, it does seem to make the skirt fit a bit snugger inside, which is part of why I like it. Also serves as another, closer layer for modesty, which I personally enjoy because loose skirts flipping about make me nervous. I dont want my skirt to pull a Marilyn Monroe in the street with a strong wind (but maybe that's just me).SIZING - Because I'm very hippy (size 14-16 in womens mostly, or 17-19 in juniors) I chose the biggest possible option. Now, at walmart for example, I usually get women's XL in bottoms sized this way. However, I looked at the size chart and decided that the XXL was probably for me. I am SUPER HAPPY with that decision! The skirt fits me perfectly, not too tight, and a comfortable length for me. That being said, everyone has different comfort levels. Best suggestion is to look at the size chart and then compare that to reviews sorted by weight categories (which is what I did).OTHER CONCERNS - I don't know how it holds up in the wash, haven't tried that yet. Material is nice to the touch, not rough or bumpy. Beautiful and seems very well made! Pleats may have some bumps from packaging, but I'm not concerned about that for myself.OVERALL - I totally recommend the Urban Coco elastic waist skirt! When I have more room in the closet, I plan to buy at least one or two more colors for date night. This style has always scared me off, but this one makes me feel sexy and confident!

This skirt was what I expected for the price point. the pleatedpart is neat and has a nice drape. the under skirt is form fitting and I'll be removing it in favor of wearing bike shorts underneath. the underskirt is a cheap static riddled material that does not fit well. The skirt itself, I could have sized down on (5'2" 175). There is some excess material in the fit of the upper portion that looks a little sloppy.

This product was not to flattering on me I’m large in the front n back, the seem in the middle of the skirt seem to make me look wider ! So if you plus size maybe look at photos or try it out first.

Just go ahead and buy it! Im a big girl & baby this lil skirt was ittttt! Granted i think i couldve gotten away with a xl but i played it safe & got the 2x. Overall, it fit good.

I ordered this hoping for ok quality, as it seemed kind of costume-y based on the price. Once I opened the package, I found a really well-made, beautiful product. I have always loved the look of pleated skirts, but so far have never owned one.I got the series 5 green, XXL. I am 6'3 inches and 220 lb. I was just praying this little skirt would fit me, because it was so beautiful. I always wear skirts at my hips, and was really not sure my 40 inch hips would fit in this. Lo and behold, I found that it has an elastic waistband!Perfect drape, and the length was just above the knee. I am absolutely in LOVE with this skirt! So comfortable, I couldn't stop wearing it around the house after trying it on. It has a wonderful weight to it that hangs beautifully, thanks to the soft black lining inside.I paired it with a pair of white lace top thigh highs (B000GIQIZM) , and white lace garter belt (B007SLC80Y) . I was unable to find a white cotton button-up short sleeve shirt on Amazon, mostly due to my 48 inch bust and confusing Asian sizing. I ended up buying a 'Kate' shirt (size 22W) from Roamans which fits wonderfully to complete my naughty schoolgirl look. I found an awesome pair of Oxford pumps to top off the look. (B0018LO05Q)Overall, I found this is an amazing skirt, at an amazing price. Beautiful pattern and colors, beautiful fit, beautiful drape and flow. I love it so much!*UPDATE*This is STILL my favorite skirt over a year later! I now own 6 of them, soon to be seven. They are still soft and soooooo comfy. Even after several washings, the pleats still held their shape decently well. I'm sure they would be much better if I ever ironed them, but I think we both know THAT'S not gonna happen! They went up a bit in price since I bought them, but still a bargain!*UPDATED UPDATE*I now own 10 of these Skirts, and had to invest in stackable skirt hangers (B07414VN1B) just to fit them all in my closet! I am so very happy with these Skirts, they make me feel so sexy when I wear them. The only patterns I haven't bought yet is the solid color ones, but why buy those when I could get more of the different plaid patterns? :-P

I got this to wear at work for St. Patrick's Day. It was cute but still long enough to be appropriate in a professional setting. flattering overall. Will say the actual waist band is a bit tight compared to the rest. Meaning the size was correct and is my usual size but proportionate to rest of skirt, the waist band is def a bit tighter w/not as much "stretch" as it could have. i actually ordered two sizes and the larger of the two was actually larger in all other places and was way too big for me but still kind of tight on the waist. and my body is proportionate. Other than that, a cute skirt and great price. I can use this over and over again for St. Pat's and pair w/ fun socks, green shoes, etc.

My ONLY complaint is the inside lining- makes it a little more stung than it really needs to be but you can cut it off without any issues! i’m

I like these skirts and have several of them. I wear them with leggings or tights because they are rather short but that looks great too. They are well made and the colours are true to photos. I order a size up as I like to wear them a little lower on my abdomen and they are designed to go around your waist.

I really like the pattern of this but I found I looked a little frumpy while wearing it. It just didn’t flatter me well
