MonBaby Smart Baby Monitor, White

The sensor in this unit is excellent it picks up respiratory movements wonderfully. The software is great too. My wife remarked that the flashing blue dot on our little lads shirt made him look like a mini 'Ironman'. Multi-graphing of all the measure parameters is great. Sadly the range is dreadful, really dreadful. We tried iphone/ipad/kindle fire/misc android devices and with all of them when the device is more than 2.5 meters away from the sensor it drops the connection. We disabled wifi and bluetooth on all the other stuff in the house and turned off anything that could be causing interference. I used a wifi and bluetooth sniffer on an android phone to see if we were being bombarded by strong signals from the neighbours (we weren't). I contacted the manufacturer and they were great and had the best tech service I have ever experienced. They had a new wifi protocol where you can use an android device next to the child as a 'hub' and relay the signal over wifi. We set that up but sadly that proved unreliable as well, with connection dropping several times a night so with a heavy heart we sent it back. It would have been wonderful if the connection was more reliable. I hope that they get this sorted because if they do this will be the best baby monitor out there (but not as it stands sadly).

I very rarely write reviews but I honestly feel this saved my 2 month old son’s life last night. The baby was feeding, I was falling asleep after getting off a plane and the baby must have snuggled in and would have suffocated but the alarm went off and woke me up and so I would recommend this product. I keep everything on when he’s in the cot and just keep the fall alert and movement detector on when he is out of the cot. It is easy to use and it does provide peace of mind.

The battery wasn’t very good on the device I received. The first battery I had lasted a week. The second lasted just over 2 weeks. I bought some batteries and they lasted longer but still died within a month. I contacted the MonBaby company and they were amazing. They arranged for me to send my device back and replaced it with an updated version which should be better with battery. I didn’t have a fed ex near me so they arranged for the new device to come to me, and I give the fed ex delivery guy my device back. They then also sent me some brand new batteries. Very pleased with how it was dealt and the new product.

Great product and idea for new parents. We had an incident with our 2 months old daughter falling unconscious, luckily with one of us present to wake her up again and take her to hospital for further investigation, without possible reason found…After some browsing on the Internet we found the MonBaby and decided to order it. Upon delivery, both supplied batteries where empty so we had our doubts that it was actually working until the day after when we had the possibility to purchase a new battery. The signal is so weak that it does not even go through a wooden door. Solved it by placing a separate iPhone in the room where our daughter sleeps together with a traditional sound baby monitor to forward the sounds from the iPhone in the room running MonBaby app. Like the idea with the product, however the signal must be better and more reliable before I could make a recommendation of it. Battery life time for us using if for ~ 6 weeks have been battery change once a week. Possibility to see/log sleeping pattern (last 7 days or something) could be a good feature in coming updates, see the "graphs" function shown on the website of the product however not available within the last MonBaby app currently available for download when I'm writing this review.

As people are writing, the battery life is really short (I change the battery weekly) and Bluetooth connection is really short.But this still works well.I use this MonBaby and baby monitor, so I let my phone in the bedroom and I check my baby in the monitor from living room.So if something happens when I’m in the living room, the MonBaby alarm tells me though the monitor.About the false alarms, yes I’ve got several times even though my baby breath normally.But I think getting false alarms are much better than no alarms when something happened.So for me, this device helps me a lot.Really good to buy.

Brilliant. The app needs a little more polish, but I can see that happening with the next couple of updates.The complaints about range may be justified, but we use this at night in the same room so it’s a non issue. Bluetooth is not a long range interface. Our baby tends to want to roll over and sleep on her front and this gives us a heads up.

This product has proved to be a life saver. It saved my grandsons life by sounding the App alarm waking his parents up in time to resuscitate.Literally a lifesaver.

This product is amazing, my daughter was kept in the NICU after birth due to breathing problems- so this device is an absolute dream for me as I can get rest knowing I will get alerted if she stops breathing or turns onto her stomach!!! The mon baby team are also really helpful and fantastic - if you have any questions or problems they sort it straight away!

Es un aparato maravilloso!se adapta a cualquier pijama o incluso al pañal ahora en verano que no llevan! te da una tranquilidad increible!Lo recomiendo 100%!!!Tuve un pequeño problema, se me rompió el anillo donde encaja, y la atención al cliente fue de 10!Quizás mejoraría el alcance de la señal que a más de 6-7 metros, se pierde aunque hay alternativa descargando monbridge y con otro aparato puente pero a pesar de eso, un 10!!!!Se lo voy a regalar a mi mejor amiga para su bebe porque es lo mejor que podía comprar, que a veces con los bebes compramos cosas inútiles y esto vale cada € que cuesta!!!!

The idea is great but because it’s app based it kicked us out without letting us know or alarms would go off constantly. Not ideal and definitely did not give us a piece of mind.

I got this today (2/13/2016) and I can tell this is really going to give me piece of mind at night time. My daughter just turned 4 months and she has started rolling on her belly at night. Almost as soon as she rolls on her belly, the alarm goes off. The only thing that would make this product better would be more range. If I'm 15 feet from her, it looses connection. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. It's also very small which is nice. I will update this as time goes by.

We’re returning this because it only works if the device is within 10ft of the phone you paired it with so you’ll never be able to have the baby in their own room while you sleep peacefully in yours.Also, we had to turn off almost every alarm because anytime you held the baby upright the position alarm would go off and anytime you walked out of range if your phone the distance alarm would go off.

I mean it’s okay. It doesn’t really ease my mind at all and I only used it a few times so far. I will use it more when my baby sleeps in her own room... it kind of measures her breathing and her position so I guess it does what it’s supposed to do.

I would not recommend this product and will be returning it. When we received it in the mail, both batteries shipped with the monitor were almost completely dead, and sending me a message alert that they only had minimal power. After going to the store to replace the batteries, I have continued to have problems. We have used this monitor two nights and it has brought me more stress than comfort. It is constantly disconnecting itself from the Bluetooth, even though we are well within the distance it is supposed to work. On top of that multiple times a night at least 10, it alarms telling me no movement detected and I end up jumping out of bed running to my baby to find that she is comfortably sleeping and breathing in her bed. The only reason I am only giving this 2 stars instead of one is that it's one of a couple monitors that actually works via Bluetooth to monitor on your phone. We will be returning the product, as it has not worked for us.

A great product! Super easy to set up and use, and I love having that extra peace of mind when baby is sleeping. I get an alert to my phone if baby rolls onto his stomach, which is great so I don't have to be staring at the baby monitor anymore. It's really easy to clip on to his pjs. Unfortunately we returned it. The WiFi range isn’t the best and if you have a child that likes to sleep on their side it’s constantly going off because the button is then making the clothing sag and not rest against the body.

Worked great if you stayed within bluetooth range, otherwise you had to have a second phone to forward the bluetooth using wireless to another phone...

Bought this for family that just had a baby. The peace of mind is well worth the price.

The idea is amazing, but the dated app support and the terrible bluetooth ruin the package. I couldnt keep a connection on an IphoneX in the next room. The App looks like it was once quality, but has contradictions in how the baby is postured. If you buy this, be prepared to be within less than 30FT to get a reading.

Great device. I bought it for my 3-month old and really like it. I definitely sleep better knowing that I don't have to worry about him ending up on his tummy without me knowing. I also find the activity monitor useful as I can tell when he's starting to stir before waking up.

This device is perfect for us! Its small, reliable and gave us peace of mind. Plain monitor can never deliver such an accurate feedback on how your baby is doing, when you are not in the room. Perfect for us! Fast delivery too. Good service.

I was disappointed with this product. In theory it was really cool, but when ours arrived I couldn't leave the room without an alarm going off on my phone from the monitor app saying that I was out of range. It literally only worked if I was sitting right next to the baby. Which if I'm doing that, I don't need a monitor... Cool technology, just didn't work as advertised, for us. The directions in the box explain it's intended use much differently than the videos on their website. Sent it back, hoping a for better product in the future.
