Stay warm when the mercury drops!
These little warmers really made a huge difference when the temperature plunged well below zero just last week. The heat was unbelievably fast and long lasting even though the wind felt like it was cutting through you like a razor! You don't really feel the extreme cold when your feet are warm. The heat actually radiates from your toes and to the rest of your body leaving you quite comfortable as long as you can get out of the wind. A few packages of these could actually save your life by fighting off the sudden and dangerous risk of developing hypothermia. Don't knock them until you have tried them, because they are not a cheap gimmick. They are a must for anyone that must have to work in cold weather and should be kept in your glove box for emergency use when the temperature decides to drop again. Hypothermia can set in when temperatures are in the 60 's and can kill you before you even realize that you are in danger. A little heat goes a long way and these heaters are well worth the money!

Great for so many uses
Last Winter, I bought a case of these hand warmers for my husband so he could keep his hands warm while he shoveled snow. These work great for that. We've also discovered a few other uses for these warmers. When I have sinus problems, whether sinus pain or stuffy noses, I wear a knitted ski cap with one of these warmers against my forehead. The warmth helps alleviate the sinus issues, whatever they are. These are also great for warming orphaned kittens. We were able to keep a kitten alive after it's mama died by swaddling it with a towel wrapped in one of these warmers. We got some "kitten milk" from the vet and rubbed its tummy to allow it to poo. However, even doing that, if we hadn't been able to keep the kitten warm, it would have died.We always keep a case of these warmers on hand for the above uses. If you have found other unique purposes for these warmers, please comment on my review. I'd love to more ideas for using these.

Hardly worked at all.
If I could give it zero stars, I would. Didn't work, waste of money. I couldn't feel any warmth coming from them and now I'm stuck with a whole box of them. Grrrr!

if you are like me you do not think about being cold 3 ...
These hand warmers do work quite well and produce a lot of heat for about 6 hours, however, in order to use them effectively you must activate them 3 or 4 hours before use as it takes that long to begin producing any significant sign of heat. if you are like me you do not think about being cold 3 or 4 hours earlier. Not so useful.

Nothing special
They work okay, but there isn't anything impressive about them. They generate a moderate amount of heat in a jacket pocket, but when you put your hands in your pockets and wrap them around the warmers, it seems like they stop heating after 30 seconds or so... like you've sucked all the heat out of them and they need to recharge, rather than giving off a constant flow of heat. Pull out your hands and let them sit in your pocket for a few more minutes, and then the heat comes back. They also don't seem to work well in open air, which doesn't make a lot of sense. For example, I recently found myself at a football game, at night, and had accidentally left my sweatpants at home, so I had to sit in the cold wearing shorts. I'd rub these warmers on my legs from time to time, and honestly couldn't feel much of anything; but they warmed up in my jacket pocket just fine.I haven't had the opportunity to try using one inside a glove yet, so don't know how they'd work in that application. So as I've said, they work okay, but they seem to be limited in what they can do and work best when left in a jacket pocket and used for a quick 30-second hand warmup every so often. Their best application, I think, is as a Christmas stocking stuffer... cheap and takes up a fair amount of space in the stocking. :-)

Fit the Heat Factory Heated Footbed
I have Heat Factory Heated Footbed bought these to hopefully go in them. They fit in the slot and have more substance to them than the "Heat Factor" pouches so they last longer and were less expensive. My toes are Warm. I love them.

Take a while to heat up
They get the job done but take an awfully long time to heat up, I have found. I'll rip them open when I leave the house on the way to the barn and 15 minutes later they might be slightly warm. They last forever, though- 4-5 hours later my coat pockets will be hot hot hot!

Didn't work :(
Unfortunately the box of hand Warner's I received did not activate when opened. I bought them for stocking stuffers and we were all disappointed. Despite following directions (open and gently shake for about 15 seconds), the only warmth from the pocket Warner's came from our own hands.
