The idea is good. The sound was “fair” at best. We purchased these for our Mother, who is hard of hearing. The sound on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being best…is a 4! If the item was in the same room, she could hear the beep— as long as it was not in an enclosed space. The key finder base is very small and the paper legend is way too small. The stripes on the individual units could be wider, so, the units could be differentiated.

I tend to misplace my keys, wallet, and my phone a lot inside of my house. Because of my clumsiness I always take 30 min-1 hour to find my keys and wallet; it would caused me to get late to class and work which was not an ideal experience. Ever since I got these, it saved me so much time as I am now able to place the remote at the center of my home and I was able to find my keys/wallet in 4 instances at an instant with just a click of a button. I have a 3200sq/ft home and I tested these out putting it on the top floor where I was able to click the color coded button and the sound was loud enough for me to hear. I don't have good hearing but it was audible enough to identify where my stuff would be.This is a must have!!! This can possibly save your job, a relationship, and your grades for your class. I have yet to change the battery but I will update this review when the battery does start to deteriorate.January 2019 update, the battery still holding its charge! I would've missed my appointment worth my doctor without this thing

Update: 5/2/2022 - We like the concept and over the last 3 years it's saved us many hours searching for keys, HOWEVER, the remotes eat batteries - a new set every 6 months and the base unit completely died last week so the whole system is useless.Original review."Where are your car keys?" "Probably with your lost tractor keys!" No more lost hours searching for keys (or anything a remote will attach to) . You get 6 remotes and 1 remote control. We attached 5 of the remotes to car keys, barn keys, tractor keys, etc., dropped them all over the house and in the yard and used the remote control to "beep" them over 75' away. (Probably go farther than that but that's what we tested) Audio on the remotes is great facing up and adequate facing down - we found them every time in under a minute. The only discipline you *must* keep is to always put the remote control back in the same place, 'cause if you lose it you can't press a button to find your keys :)

It was very hard to open the beepers to put the batteries in before I read the instructions. don't be like me, please read the instructions first. The product works well, as expected, good for the price. the beeps are loud, and there's about a 20 ft. range between the remote and the beepers, I think. you may want to label the buttons if you think you may forget the color coding. Have had them for at least 6 months and they are still useful and functional.

I am always setting my phone or my keys somewhere and forgetting where they were left. I would spend so much time looking for them that I would be late to an appointment or a gathering. I hate being late. Now I just have to use the finder remote and bingo, found keys/phone. Now if I can only remember what color I used for each item. Oh, well, if one doesn't work the other one will. Should have had years ago.

I have had several versions of the Key Finder all of which are invaluable for those of us who do not put our keys in the same place every day. I like this one the best as the card is small and fits easily on my key ring. The battery was placed in May and so far works fine 3 months later. This little gadget is so important to me that I would be happy to replace the battery monthly if needed. So far, that does not appear to be necessary. Another plus with this finder is the little free standing remote that comes with the package. Unlike my keys, I seem to be able to keep this item in the same place.

This was a gift and he loved it !!! Bought it for his phone and he hasn’t lost it since ! The only down is there needs to be a better way to connect to the devices if it can be used for other things than keys. Almost lost one of the tabs several times due to the thin wire ring coming loose. Other than that this is a great product

I like that you get six of these, they are thin and have a nice loud beep, I misplace my keys all of the time but usually they are not too far from me, I just never drop them in the same place. I actually could not find the other 5 and luckily I had put the batteries in all of them so I hit one of the buttons and found them. These are perfect for me.
