Good meter, keep a ferrite choke on its power cord.
Great meter. Love the large backlit display. Readings seem similar compared to the built in power meter in my Yaesu radio. I powered it by USB cable and my transmitter ended up RFing the unit for a few seconds, I smelled smoke, but it recovered! Shame on me for RF in the shack, and the instructions almost but not quite talked about providing a 'good power' to the unit to keep it safe. It would be better just to say, "Put a ferrite choke on the power cord." Or maybe they could put one inside the product... :) Since then , it works fine despite the smoke. I love the forward, reflected and swr numbers that are easy to read. Good product overall.

Battery Hog
It works as advertised but you better keep a bunch of AAA batteries. Battery voltage sags as soon as the backlight is switched on. This is with newly installed alkaline batteries.

It's a valuable tool. Not the ultimate tool.
The Digital SWR/Watt Meter is very handy, however its accuracy is suspect. I've had this since January and use it as a guide with other methods on the radio and auto-tuner to confirm the readings. The battery makes it portable for short stints away from USB power, but they don't last long. A problem occurred while using the USB power source. The fragile micro-USB plug failed. I had the unit held securely with Velcro. It and power cable's mounting were stable. However, it stopped working one day. I wiggled the USB cable a little bit and it would only work if the orientation of the micro plug was at a slight angle. Using another USB cable presented the same problem. It was the USB receptacle which failed. Later, the receptacle frame came out with the plug, My solution: Hard wire power to the battery wires. It's working fine now. The hard wire fix is somewhat permanent with a drilled hole and hot glue on the battery plate, but it's still portable with a USB battery back up. Saves me the return hassle effort.

Defective out of the box
I purchased this and it clearly was not measuring reverse voltage because SWR was showing as 1.0, yes I compared to another SWR meter which showed a correct non 1.0 value There's no reset button or otherwise , just power and light, so if I missed something, it wasn't obvious or in the brief manual Nice idea if it worked but seems like roulette as to whether you get a good version

Great Device
Great device. So much so that this is the second purchase so I can keep one in line with each transceiver. Do agree with the other reviewer that the battery life is not as long as some may like, however for the price and the fact that at the home shack I keep both connected to a 5vdc phone charger, it does what I want: monitors both power and SWR at the same time. When portable, just need to turn off after verifying the SWR (or use a phone "juice pack" to supplement the batteries).

Works as expected.
I got it because I moved from VHF to HF. I know the current "coolest" thing is to just use the meters that are built into modern rigs. But I like being able to verify outside the embedded programing. Works perfectly as far as I can tell.

Just Works
I needed to measure my SWR for high frequency, so I picked up this unit. I had the analog version for VHF/UHF, so I was familiar with the brand. Plugging this in and testing my radio, I was blown away by how much better using a digital meter was over the analog. I may have to go back and replace my other one. Anyway, same as others, this does go through batteries. Plus, replacing the batteries means breaking out a screw driver. Where possible, plug it in to USB instead. Still, minor inconvenience for accurate measures. I'm pretty happy.

Don't know if the product is any good or not, the seller shipped a used and broken RS-70 meter when it was advertised as new. Be wary of buying from DotDotTech.

There is seemingly no way to get a repair / exchange / refund. Apparement, pas moyen d'obtenir réparation / échange / Remboursement.
