Holds mini upside down without adhesive, good product.
Bought one of these to trial putting google mini’s in my ceilings and can say that I am very happy with it, despite the rather expensive price compared to the half price mini itself. I used a 102mm (round) hole saw and didn’t worry to much if there was a joist above because if there was, I only had to cut into it by less than 1cm (and chisel out a small piece of wood) to allow the Genie to fit. The Genie was pushed into plasterboard ceiling using some force, and the mini held in, upside down without the use of the supplied sticky tape/adhesive. I needed 5 more, but due to Amazon being out of stock, I bought direct from Genie America, which was only a little cheaper once I had paid import duty. Thought I wouldn’t use the usb power extension cables that come with them, but just in case the power supply failed, I did, as saves hunting around under fibre glass insulation to locate Genie & mini. Hope this helps someone.

Nice - but found a better way!
Bought one of these so I could ceiling mount my Home Mini.My bathroom (where I was going to put this) has a fake "plastic" ceiling below the plasterboard "true ceiling".The way these things work, with the barb on the end, is that the "fixing blades" push through, then the barbs on the end of the "blades" lock it into plaster board. In my case, I feared these "blades" would just split the heck out of the plastic ceiling...In the end, used a chromed "extractor fan cowling", which screws into the plastic ceiling, the Home clips into the cut out (I removed the "rings" from the chrome), and then that trim locks onto the "base" that's screwed in to the ceiling.Works well - look s great! That said, this product here would be fine for a plaster board wall or ceiling, and the extra-long micro usb cable was handy - I'll use this product somewhere else in the house.
