National Geographic always does a great job printing maps. I use this map to track my daughter as she hikes the PCT. I move her photo up the map as she progresses up each mile. It's important to me to know where she is.

It's not very detailed since it really can't be (2600 miles crammed into 4 feet) but it is a great overall picture of the trail and great to hang on the wall to dream and plan for the future. Also great for family and friends to keep track of where you are in relation to the whole trail if you're doing a thru hike or large section hike.

I ordered this to be used to help plan for my upcoming PCT thru-hike. I wanted a visual ad to mark and reference all the re-supply points, USPS locations and watering holes along the trail so I could get a rough sense of distance between these points and how rough the terrain is to help determine how well stocked I’ll need to be at these various points. Although I knew this before I bought this topo map, I do wish National Geographic would have marked the typical locations of waypoints not subjected to changes from year to year since this is a Pacific Crest Trail edition map outlining the trail routes. However I can somewhat understand why they didn’t due to liability concerns if some idiot gets lost or injured and try’s to suit.

Great map especially if you're a long distance hiker. I bought the maps for the triple crown (mainly for memories of the PCT, and goals for the other 2. Good details on them, with stats. Looks great on a wall, and probably even better framed. Will update after I do so, but that's a lot of frame at this size...

This map really shows you what you are getting into. I plan on framing this with a backing so that I can use magnets to add notes to the map.

I have thru hiked the Appalachian Trail and I am preparing to hike the PCT. I ordered the PCT trail map for some inspiration...and I received a map of the Appalachian Trail. I thought maybe I made a mistake, but the listing clearly says Pacific Crest Trail map. I decided to keep it and juat order another PCT map, so I will have both.

Very nice map, I had bought the puzzle previously thinking I would be able to see a lot of detail, but it was too small. But this is large enough to see the detail I wanted. I attached it to the wall with metal plates and very strong magnets so I can easily remove it to look at it more closely and under magnification, if necessary. Good quality and I’m very pleased with this purchase.

It came inside 24” posters tube which allowed it to travel inside the tube and bang up the edges and tear some too. Not enough to ruin it but enough to feel let down. Noticing other customers getting the original box with there order I feel even more let down after paying a high price .

Lovely map, good quality paper and the printing is top notch. I do wish it had come laminated like my Appalachian Trail one, but it is still beautiful.

Map arrived in a reasonable amount of time an at a reasonable price, in its original box (other sellers sent me NG maps without the original box, and in some cases this causes the map to arrive not in framing condition).

Like the layout and the detail contained, but text is small making it quite difficult to read.
