Perfect for sitting on in the bath tub and shower chair!
I bought this cushion to use in the shower and it has been amazing. I am in a wheelchair and needed something for the shower. I prefer to sit in the shower tub but because the tub is so hard I would get pressure sores and it would be painful on my bottom and back. This has been an absolute life saver. I took the cover off to sit on while I shower and when I run a bath I use it as a back rest. It's just enough chushion to protect myself and it's comfortable. It does float but when sitting on it, it stays put. The holes makes it easy to rinse off after I shower and it dries quickly. I also use it on my shower chair/transfer chair when I use the sink to do makeup and such. The transfer chair is also hard so this is a nice cushion. I would definitely recommend this to use on a shower chair or in the tub. For my actual wheelchair I use a more expensive cushion through insurance with much more support. I feel as though this wouldn't be enough for my daily chair. With that said if someone were to use it in the car or airplane for short amount of times I feel as though this would be good comfortable protection. I have used it when I sat on the floor to wrap Christmas presents or paint my nails and it was perfect for that. The holes/cells make it so it can even out the pressure but also breath. The cover seemed to be nice with one side that is rough to prevent it sliding off the surface and stay put. I have not used the cover though. If you are looking for a gel cushion for travel or a few hours a day I would definitely recommend this especially with the price. Again if you are using for all day use or for wheelchair I would go with something with more cushion and back support. I would absolutely recommend this for a shower chair also.

Two Bottoms Saved by Wondergel Traveller Gel Seat Cushions!
My daughter and I attended a convention at the Georgia Dome this past weekend. The seats we sat in were made of hard plastic and were very unfriendly to the behind. We used the Wondergel Traveller gel seat cushions for three days for at 6-7 hours of sitting each day, minus restroom breaks. At only 1" thick they were surprisingly effective in providing comfort. I tend to get restless after a couple of hours of sitting, even in cushioned seats, but I know that I would have been pulling my hair out within the first two hours without these cushions! They were not perfect as I still got a little restless at the end of each day (I have poor circulation in my legs). However, these cushions made it so that I could pay attention to the material and maintain my sanity. The stiffness in my behind was greatly reduced. Also note worthy was that these gel cushions were small enough to pack in a bag (yet large enough to cover the seat) and light enough to carry long distances. I gave it 5 stars because I won't forget to bring my cushion to future events like this. It made that much of a difference for me. My 14 year old daughter also experienced the value of having this cushion. She brought hers with her each day and used it the entire weekend. She, too, was grateful to have a Wondergel seat cushion. Thank you for providing a great product...our bottoms thank you!

you wouldn't really call it "soft" but the honeycomb nature makes it comfortable. It is a good size for the seat
I got this to sit on in the car when traveling longer distances. It is thin enough that it doesn't put me too high in the seat. As others wrote, you wouldn't really call it "soft" but the honeycomb nature makes it comfortable. It is a good size for the seat, too. It might not be big enough for a larger person, but I guess having a softer seat for only part of the sitting area would also be good. I use it only for longer trips, and it is easy to bring back in the house when I'm not using it. It gives a good "small" measure of support. I think it was worth the price. ("It's good for what it's good for.") Oh. <hehe> The disadvantage is that the seat heat doesn't go through it very well. <wink>

The Traveller cushion is too thin and small to use on most chairs...
The Traveller cushion is too thin and small (15" x 13" x 1") to use on most chairs, which is what I bought it for (I am female, 5'4" and 135 pounds). It is even small for use on my car seat, where I now have it; it helps here, but would not for long trips. (We are in a motorhome and do lots of driving.) The Traveller cushion uses a different (and in my opinion less effective) square cell pattern from most Wondergel cushions. I do not believe this is a very usable cushion unless you are carrying it from place to place and not sitting on it for very long (only use it for traveling, and if your back isn't very bad off). I much prefer the Original gel seat cushion (16x 18x 1.25"), which my husband uses in the car- it is thicker, larger, and has a more supportive 'diamond' gel cell pattern. My husband (6' and 175 pounds) prefers the Wondergel Extreme Cushion for use on a chair and on long trips driving in the motorhome, as it is 2" thick and also uses the diamond cell pattern. (I find the 2" cushion too high, causing pressure points on the backs of my legs. I was going for less height due to this issue, but the Traveller model cushion wasn't the fix I thought it would be.) So if you have real back problems consider your 'specs', and where and how you are going to use the cushion - once you get the right Wondergel one you will know. This wasn't the right one for me, and I am ordering an Original Gel Seat Cushion.

COMFY
Purchased for my 100 year old mother who just learned to use her little motor chair. It is soft and comfortable, especially helpful since she does not have a lot of built in padding anymore. But most important it does not slide around the slippery seat of the chair. With this and the seat belt she is all set to roll around the mile long campus!
