It's definitely a work out
I decided to get the ball because in the right hands even thus can do some serious damage. The ball isn't a little squishy ball like I thought. It's solid all the way through. It does come with a flag, I don't have a teacher so I'm using intuition and some youtube videos as a guide at least in studying how they do some things. I would recomend when you first get it do repetitions with it. Get use to swinging it in one direction then change course and do that a few times with one arm, then the other. This will start to work up your stamina and muscle memory on how to change directions. It was something I decided to get because I've never heard of it before and wanted to try an anchient chinese weapon.

Excellent item.
Very well made. Perfect for beginners. Be careful, that rubber ball is being held on with a bolt. Ask me how I know. Go ahead. 🤣🤕

Fun!
I got these for my niece and bil for Christmas. They had a blast! I told them if they went a year without major injuries they could upgrade to a knife! Lol

Great practice tool for the money!
I’ve been training with this practice rope dart/meteor hammer for a while now, and overall it’s been a really solid piece of equipment—especially for anyone working on flow, control, and range. The first thing that stands out is the weight. It feels excellent in motion—not too heavy to slow you down, but substantial enough to give you good feedback and momentum. That balance makes a big difference when you’re drilling techniques or trying to build consistency. It also flows extremely well. Transitions between moves feel smooth and natural, which makes practicing more enjoyable and helps you focus on technique rather than fighting the tool. Whether you’re working on wraps, releases, or continuous patterns, it supports clean execution. Another major plus is the reach. The rope length allows for impressive long-range shots, which is great for both performance-style movements and practical training. You can really explore distance control and timing in a way that shorter setups just don’t allow. The only downside I’ve noticed is with the rope itself. The cotton rope core tends to protrude slightly from the sides as it gets used, which increases friction when it slides through your hands. Over time, this can get uncomfortable—especially during longer sessions—and you will likely end up with blisters if you’re practicing regularly without protection. Overall, it’s a great practice tool with excellent weight, flow, and range. Just be prepared to manage the rope wear—or wear gloves—if you’re putting in serious training time.
