Better than digital. For tiny exact measurements.
Cheap and functional. I use these for sizing guitar and bass strings because they're in inches, strangely. I much prefer these old mechanical ones to digital ones. (They can be jumpy and unreliable ). I can tell quickly if my guitar has 009's or 010's on it, etc. You know Exactly. I have a few of these Chinese micrometers, and use them all. They're all essentially the same, and all probably from Amazon. I'll show a picture of one of them in use.

Excellent Tool.
I have 3 of these. They're different brands and differ slightly in their appearance (perhaps not made in the same factory). I get exact results on proof blocks, reliably, from all three. No math, no conversions, just accurate measurements that move my work forward, SAE or metric. I've never changed a battery; they work in sub-freezing and sweltering conditions; easy (intuitive) to use and read. We used to deride Japanese tools in the 70's, then we all clamored for Toyotas and Yamahas. Chinese manufacturing has turned that same corner. Buy their stuff while it's cheap.

Precise, accurate, and a great value. Very happy!
I checked this micrometer with items that are of known thickness. I can tell you, this is dead on and at a very reasonable price to boot. That being said, I don't use this for super-duper machine work, but for my needs it's great and also accurate. Very happy with it.

Good digital micrometer, but mine arrived with 1 dead battery and no spare.
With a fresh battery installed, the unit zeroed easily, held its zero admirably after repeated measurements, and was easy to use. The unit produced fully repeatable measurements to the last digit on the display, which is generally a good and desirable thing for a micrometer to be capable of providing. I had purchased this item for its low price (relative to some other similar products) and because it had a bunch of positive reviews. One other convincing factor, however, was that the product listing said it would come with an extra battery. On receipt, the unit had a battery installed and it was dead. Appeared to be brand new, not a return, and there was no spare battery in the unit. So, I spent an extra $7 to get a new CR1632 3v battery from my grocery store. The battery size is somewhat unusual, so I feel I got lucky to find one locally. Amazon sells multi-packs of these batteries for just a few dollars. Unless you are doing a lot of measuring, I recommend removing the battery before storage & just keep it in the provided storage case. Something to be aware of: there is a small data port on the back of the unit - this is covered by a small removable square door - the little door is easy to displace, so just be aware. If the door gets lost, it shouldn't cause problems unless metal enters the data port receptacle (looks like a mini-USB connection). I have not tried to use a data cable with this unit. All things considered, I can recommend this unit to others, with the caveat that you may need to order a spare battery at time of order, or be ready to get one on receipt.

Digital caliper!
Nice calipers. Came with a spare battery, but the original battery only lasted a year.

Good for measuring things!
Arrive fast and easy to use came with a calibration certificate for what it's worth. Only used it once so far but it was good to get as a cheap way to obtain a tool for work.

Cheap & Nasty, Display broke after 5 weeks.
Digital display stopped working after only 5 weeks, changed battery twice, no different. When it was working, i took some gauge measurements to check it's inconsistency and it was unfortunately not at all,a consistent +0.005mm error. Now I find it only had a 30 day return warranty with Amazon. Beware!!
