This is my first welder and I have only used the flux-core function but I love it so far. With a little of research and I was welding on the first day. I have since made an antenna mount for my ham radio hobby and a new work bench for my shop. The chart in the manual of the settings is not the best but with practice I have learned to set it by the sound of the arc. (This is my first welder so I have nothing to compare it to) I also bought a azzuno welding helmet that works good.

Several dings and a warped door caused a loss of confidence. I don't expect much for the price but seemingly ZERO quality control or even less care left me thinking of where will I be in a couple of months when it goes to welder heaven.

My son found this easy to set up and get using right away. He is new to welding, so the price of this one was great to get started. The build seems like it is good quality. It is sturdy and doesn't feel like it will tip over at all. The cord id a little shorter than he would like. It limits where ha can use it. It makes good welds and comes with everything he needed aside from his safety equipment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable mig welder.

This is a very impressive and well built welder designed for most everyone that needs welding occasionally. It can handle Aluminum MIG/Gas MAG/Gasless Flux Core MIG/Gas MIG/Spot MIG/Spool Gun Compatible/Lift TIG/Stick Welding, Multi process Welding Machine. But the main things for me, essentially just starting out welding, are Gasless Flux Core welding and Stick Welding. That gets you up and running the fastest if you are just learning how to weld. If you want to use the other features, such as Aluminum welding, you would need to purchase a separate spool gun or for Lift TIG you would also need a special gun for that; the (Lift TIG gun and spool gun are not included, WP-17V-35-50, LBT150). And obviously if you wanted to use this with MIG Gas, you would need to get a special tank of gas for that too. But this allows you to get going quickly, with the options of expanding what you can do with different welding types in the future, with the main power workhorse at your disposal. That right there makes this a very good buy, for the future. If you are just getting started with welding, I suggest watching some videos online, and specify the welding type you are interested in learning how to do. They teach you well, and you can see exactly what needs to be done. Note that this does not come with any welding wire, so you will want to pickup some Gasless MIG also known as Flux core wire to get started. You don't need to spend a fortune on a big spool, but I would suggest .030 inch diameter in size to begin with. One last feature that I do really like is being able to use it from a 115 volt or a 230 volt outlet. And at the time of this review this was a very good value for the money.

Looks like the power cord has been tampered with! You can see the indentured marks on the cord where it once was going into the machine. Have to give it real test run to determine if everything is okay.

I think the price is pretty fair for a unit with power in this range. This was my first time getting into welding so I didnt want to get an extremely expensive machine. This machine was very user friendly, everything I needed for it was right in the manual (or easy to find using youtube videos). Being a welder of a pretty low skill level I'm actually surprised at the quality of welds I was able to produce with this machine. I'm sure if you have 25 hrs+ of welding experience you can get all the power you need for home projects at least. Nothing monumental, you basically know what you're going to get with this category of machine and if you're willing to accept the build quality/longevity trade offs that come with 'off brand' hardware then look no further.
