Works way better than expected.
Right out of the box, this device picks up a considerable amount of acorns. I purchased the wheel weight add-ons. I would say this would work much better doing weekly sweeps as the acorns begin to fall. At this point it is late in the season in New England and the acorns have been down for a while so they have had a chance to dig in a bit. That said, it has been able to pick up most of what has fallen. After 30 minutes of walking back and forth I had about a half a cubic yard of nuts. I will rake out one last time this year and starting next fall will run the harvester after each mow.

Expensive but works as promised
Lots of other products just didn't do the job for me. The one is great at picking up acorns from the lawn dropped by the various oak trees on the property. For me it works best with the added weight of the hopper being at least 1/3 full (yes you can buy weights, but acorns are free), so I don't completely empty it.

Is it worth the price?!
I will say that it’s a “5 Star” product. It does what it design to do. When my family moved in to our new how that had many oak trees around it I did not think much to acorns being a problem but it was!!!Fist season I use a leaf blower, shop vacuum to get acorns out of flower beds and also a rake. This still did not get them up properly. When summer came around the acorns start sprouting all over the areas that I missed. I ran across a video of this and decided to give it a try. It is night and day compared to last season on the amount I got picked up with this device.I give it a “4 Star” only because of the price. Its all plastic with and except the aluminum handle. I know the cost to make could not be that expensive to make. I think most would pay $200-$300 for this. I think this American made company is missing out on more sales of this product because of its price.

Excellent purchase. The deer love the acorns!
We did have to pick up bigger sticks but this thing did great. We actually put a 3 pound weight in the basket and that made it pick up a lot more which it was already doing fine. We got @10 gallons of acorns in about 7 minutes with this

Not worth the money.
I bought this for small acorns. I followed the instructions. Mowed the grass short with a high lift blade. Tried the bag a nut. It dit not pick up the small acorns. I used a rake and brought acorns closer to the surface…still did not work. I read about a weight attachment and thought that might help so I attached 25 pounds of weight to the bag a nut. This did not help. I have thick Bermuda grass and the acorns would not lodge in the tines. For $500+, it should have been fantastic. It was not.

Works okay but ground needs to be smooth, not bumpy.
Acorn harvester picks up approx. 70% of acorns on ground. Will not work very well if surface is not smooth even if you add weights.

Works on thick lawns
My husband and I were apprehensive about whether or not the bag-a-nut would work on our thick lawn since all the videos we found showed it only on sparse grass, but it did an amazing job! I wish we would have purchased this years ago!!

Works great!
We had a bumper crop of acorns this year. We picked up 6 full wheel barrows of acorns using this. Very easy to use and does a great job!
