Very Satisified...run a little short though
Excellent boot. They do run a little short though. I'd recommend ordering 1/2 size up if possible. This wasn't possible for me though. I have a 'strong' sized 13 foot (i.e. probably more like 13.5) and I ordered size 14. They're definitely not too big that's for sure.I waited about 2 months to write this review just to be able to provide an honest and objective review based on experience. I've been wearing these boots daily since receiving them. The one thing I really like about these boots is they really do breathe. If there's a light breeze you can actually feel the breeze inside the boot. I can't wear insulated boots (even in winter) because my feet run hot...ALWAYS. The Bellville Chrome's stay cool, amazingly so. As others have noted, there is virtually no break-in time required. It will take a couple days to get the lacing tension just right for you, but other than this you can just put them on for the first time and go. Comfort wise I would rate them right up there with a quality running shoe. Good support and a quality contact with the ground, so from an agility standpoint they are excellent. Very stable. After a full day of wearing them you'll forget you have an 8" boot on (I know I do sometimes). The zipper is really good quality, and the boots are quick to don and doff. Definitely an excellent boot. These boots are not waterproof, nor do they pretend to be. Given the breathability, if you step in water above the insole your foot will get wet. That's okay though in my book because the breathability more than makes up for this (I hate hot feet). The heel cup does not chafe, even after extended walking (and I have a pronounced heel) and the foot bed is well designed.I can't speak to long term durability at this point. Only have 2 months of wear on them so far. If I had to guess I'd say, with the soft compound sole, they probably won't wear like a Vibram outsole (which are practically bulletproof), but you can't really run in a Vibram sole either (at least I can't very well). You could easily go running in these boots just as you could an athletic shoe.I will likely order another pair of these for rotation. I wish they also made this boot in brown or reddish-brown wine color, but they only come in black. Next time though, I do believe I will order one size up (15...and yes, they do sell this boot in a 15...one of the few (but that's the biggest size)).

Comfort
It's very hard to find work boots to fit my small feet. These were ordered in a whim and thankfully they fit perfectly! Very happy with the material and the overall comfort

Great boots, but not happy with laces
I have a good pair of side zip boots, but they are too warm in the warmer weather. These boots are much cooler. The zipper extends down further than my other boots, making this easier to take off and put on.Addendum: I really like these boots. but not the laces. The reason for side zip boots is that you don't want to retie the boots each time you wear them. But these laces untie themselves after 3 or 4 wearings and need to be retied. I tried double knots and making the knots very tight but they untie themselves anyway.

Cheap quality
“Leather” already peeling off ....overall invest in something else for the extra bucks ....mine did not last long at all.

Tactical Research Chrome
I decided to try the Chrome boot after having a few pairs of their Khyber boots which I have had excellent success with. I've only had the Chromes about a week so a longevity comment can't happen but if like the Khyber's I'll get a good two years out of them then they become the project thrash boots for painting and other messy jobs. And I'm extremely hard on foot-gear under standard wearing and use conditions. The Chrome boots seem to be a bit bulkier then the Khyber's but just slightly so not a downside at all. Right out of the box they were sort of stiff IMO. Also the heel/sole was rather "Tappy" on laminate floors and not quite as much when on concrete even while using a toe heel step. But now a week of every day wear and they have broken in quite nicely and didn't tire the feet out. Tactical Research is excellent that way. Stealth is back on line as is being able to double time it with relative ease. And comfortable..I've tried a number of brands in the same price break range and a bit above that were very good but the Chromes are just noticeably better. The Boots do especially well on slick and slippery surfaces like indoor parking structures have. And oh yeah... They are very nice looking. I recommend this product.

Boots stink & so does service.
The first pair of boots I had delivered smelled so bad I could not even try them on. I, in fact, put the shoe box in a black plastic trash bag before enclosing it in its shipping box, and could still smell them. They were promptly returned at no cost to Amazon.I thought maybe the warehouse they were stored may have had something to do with it, so I tried another pair from a third party seller.DO NOT BUY from Captain Dave's.The boots I got from them had the same stink. It is so bad I would feel uncomfortable wearing them around people at work. I think it must be something in the manufacturing. And the boots run about 1/2 size bigger than what I am accustomed too. Size 9 Altama Litespeed = size 8.5 Belleville TR Chrome. The reason not to buy from Captain Dave's is YOU PAY RETURN SHIPPING and 15% RESTOCKING FEE!So it cost me $25 to try on a pair of boots from those clowns. Hope you may learn from my mistake.

Not as cool as you would think.
Yes, when the wind blows you can feel it through yhe mesh. The boot fit is good. I still found it VERY hot to wear. I even put four holed in the arch like a drain for air movement....still hot. Durable boot and light weight. Only cool when the wind blows.

Awesome boots, great quality
One of the best boots I've owned. Very light and comfortable (I did add some scholls inlays, I always do to boots) great build quality. Also you can feel a nice slight breeze at times coming through them to cool you off and somehow in the rain your feet do not get wet. Great boots.
