Sturdy/fair price/ ease of assembly
My handyman put this together, but he said it wasn't difficult. It's very sturdy - no wobbles. It makes the car look quite sporty! I was curious about the new sound I heard, but it was just the air deflector pushing the wind aside. There was plenty of room to avoid the roof-mounted radio aerial. I would definitely recommend this product.

Easy To Assemble, Sturdy, Great Fit!
I purchased this to install on a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The roof rack did arrive in a damaged box, but that did not affect the contents inside. Instructions and all hardware to assemble and install were included and easy to understand. Assembly was simple, it took me by myself about an hour to do. One note - the fairing holders are two different sizes - make sure you put the smaller ones on top, and the larger ones on the bottom (the last step in assembly). The instructions aren't clear in pointing that out. Once assembled the rack was very sturdy and solid, it didn't feel loose at all at the connection points. Installation on my vehicle was also easy. I did it by myself and took about 30 minutes. Once placed up on the roof and centered, simply attached the 4 hold downs as shown in the instructions and it's done. I put them on loose at first, re-centered the roof rack, and then tightened them all down. It's mounted nice and solid to the existing roof rack with no play or wiggle at all. This was a great purchase that was easy to assemble and install. I've added some pictures to show the finished product installed on a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

A really nice roof rack - seal it.
I bought this for a 1st Gen Durango. It is a very sturdy unit with dimensions that make it look like it was designed for this truck. The powder coat is even and well applied. Here is the deal. What I am about to write applies to every roof rack manufactured by every manufacturer, not just this one. Whenever one of these is assembled it should be sealed with black silicone sealant. Everywhere pipes join should have sealant put on the male side and excess smoothed around the joint. Every place where a plastic cap seals off a tube should be coated in sealant. Every place where a screw holds pipes together should likewise be sealed. Get a tube of black 100% silicone sealant before you even start. If you do this then you won't have rust. If you don't do this and you end up with rust then it is your own fault. I know that a lot of people have trucks that they want to look like its a overland or other work truck. Real overlanders, and real work trucks, are all properly sealed. As a overlander, and a member of two emergency response teams, I have to make sure my stuff is right. Take the time and do it right - seal it. We need our stuff to work not fail at the worst possible times. All of that is just a word to the wise. That said, I love this roof rack.

Sturdy, handsome, but imperfect fit on 5th Gen Explorer
The rack itself is very sturdy, good-looking, and well designed for its price point. The assembly also went more smoothly than I expected considering all the negative reviews about the difficult instructions. While the instructions were not the clearest, there were plenty of photos by other customers that you can refer to for help. The fit of the rack on my 2016 5th Gen Explorer is acceptable, but certainly not excellent. While one pairs of mounts rested perfectly on one of the crossbars the other set of mounts had only half the surface area in contact with the crossbars. I needed to twist the tightening knobs extra hard in order to make sure the contact between my rear crossbars and the mounts were good. All in all, this is an excellent crossbar for its cost, but donโt expect it to fit perfectly with your vehicle since it is a โuniversal fit.โ Update after 3 weeks of use: I've been driving about 2 hours on the interstate for my commute with the rack every other day at highway speeds since purchasing the rack and I must say I'm impressed. The wind noise remained at an acceptable level, the gas mileage decreased perhaps only by 1-1.5 mpg, and the fit is still snug and tight. Update after 4 weeks of use: Tiny rust stains are starting to appear in several of the joints and hinges due to, as other reviewers have previously commented, poor coverage of the black powder coat. I've driven through several rain storms so this is probably to be expected. I just applied some Fluid Film rust/corrosion inhibitor to the entire rack now to prevent further rusting.

Roof Rack Cargo Basket
I bought this a few months ago and I'm finally using it. I placed it on my Ford Explorer for our round trip from Texas to Florida. It worked flawlessly! I should have taken pictures. Will maybe add to post later. Easy to install. Took two people to get it on top of my car. Easy to secure to my two crossbars. #1. Folks complained about the basket rusting. Of course like most metals, it will rust if you leave it out in the elements. It rained while on the road. It stayed on my roof for 9 days. Simple solution: It comes off as easy putting it on. Remove it from your roof if not using it. It will be stored in the attic until I use it again. #2. The 4 bolts that stick up. Yes. There are 4 bolts that stick up through the butterfly nuts. It could possibly puncture a suit case or scratch something that lays on top of it. I placed a small pad on each screw and secured with duck tape. Problem solved. I enjoyed having the basket. I needed it. It worked. I recommend it.

Game Changer!!! Do it!!!
I searched and researched longer than I would like to admit and finally bit the bullet and purchased this one. I can't believe how much this has actually changed my life! No more playing Tetris on the pack out for camping! At this price point know that there is going to be a bit of work on your part. I sealed every single joining point and weld with 'Pro Seal Black RTV Silicone Instant Gasket' then I hit it with 2 cans of trunk bed liner from Harbor Freight. I've had it on since the day it arrived (3 and a half months at this point). It's been through and and every kind of rain and even snow (Upstate NY) and not a speck of rust. It fits my Gazelle T4 tent perfectly along the side and 3 Plano 64 qrt storage cases (I could probably fit one more if I wanted to). My cases aren't sure heavy so can't really speak to weight for this rack. I say be smart and don't overload it and keep your center of gravity in mind with weight distribution. This thing is solid in my opinion. Bungie net hooks sit tight on the bars and have no issues using all kinds of tie downs, from rachet straps to bungie cords. Bonus is I can strap up my diy awning to it and it's perfect! A few usb string lights and it's a vibe. In my opinion it's worth it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat! I totally recommend it

Great Product...when you finally force it together....
I bought this item based on price, size, weight and how easy it looked to assemble. The item came very well shipped with plenty of protection around the bars. Once you get that off, it is basically self explanatory on how to put it together, however, the instructions are straight forward and easy to read and understand. Upon inspection of the pieces out of the box, there were some of the side flares and corners of some bars that were scratched slightly...looked like before it was packed. Getting the main assembly and extension together was easy. The problem starts after that point. The side flares clip on the sides and there are 2 screws to put in each one. Trying to get the screws in took me awhile as I moved the flairs around to try and get them line up with the holes in the bars. The "roll out" of the metal on the flares was clearly not QA'd. Some were crooked and there were 2 of the flairs I had to screw the screws in askew to get it to secure. The 1 rear flare also had hole misalignment. I also had to force this one together. This took way to much time to find the right spot. After getting it together, the front flare was easy to install, and after the install of my cross-bars, I had to make sure the pads at the bottom of the basket aligned with the cross-bars. The clipped in pads at the bottom of the basket was another problem. They "snap" in on the underside between 2 rungs of the basket. 3 of them went in fine, but one was very very difficult to snap in because the rungs were misaligned slightly to the point that the pad did not want to go in. It took all of my might to get it on finally. Once again, another QA issue with the production of the product. Another issue, which was mentioned in an earlier review, was the U-bolts should have been slightly longer. Mine fit up through the clamp and metal piece with "barely" enough thread remaining to get the 2 knobs on to secure it to the crossbars. There are 2 ways to solve this...either make the u-bolts longer, which wouldn't be desirable as they already stick up into the basket taking room and limiting the cargo in which can be placed in there...or, use different knobs that the threading starts at the bottom of the knob rather than halfway through the knob, so they catch immediately...this would be an easy fix for the company. It took me a long time to find the "exact" point on both knobs to be able to catch the threading on both of them and secure it down. I put a "Trailhawk" vinyl sticker on the front flaring for styling. It looks really good on my Trailhawk and would be a 5 star product had a QA process been done. Overall, even through the struggles of getting it assembled, this seems like a sturdy product that is pleasing to the eye. One more suggestion would be to add a connector of sorts on the small rungs between the 2 main pieces and the extensions...having a space in between just looks dumb and incomplete. I do believe this to be a great value for the money and fit on my Trailhawk perfectly, and also only has a 6" height, so I still can fit in my garage. Hope this review helps others make the critical decision of an easy install, or one where you have to forceably have to assemble or possibly use tools not intended.

Very sturdy
I researched various roof racks and ended up with this one for a couple of reasons - 1. The size - many of the others I looked at were smaller than this one; 2. The price -- this roof basket was MUCH less expensive than the others out there. I was a little worried that maybe due to the price, it would be cheap and not very sturdy, but nothing could be farther from the truth. It is very sturdy, well made and well put together. I have used it on two long-distance trips since I got it and everything fit great. It is on my car all the time, and it does not show any signs of deteriorating due to weather. Definitely recommend! (I have it on a 2017 Subaru Outback.)
