Fat Max? Fat Waste of Cash!
Once upon a time if you bought a Stanley tool you could be sure it was pretty good and i still to this day use Stanley tools that I inherited from my Grandad. Alas though, these days are gone and now they're selling sh** like this. I don't actually know what Fat Max means or is supposed to stand for but in my mind at least, the name itself doesn't actually conjure any fit for purpose images or impressions.Ok, rant over, now I'll explain the reason for it. When I first got this it came with a blade fitted and it worked perfectly well and I was quite pleased with it. The trouble arose when I tried to turn the blade to 90 degrees ( there are machined slots which enable you to turn the blade in increments of 45 degrees). When I tried to slacken the blade I had to hold the thumb lever with a pair of pliers to get the tension released. I dismantled it and found the roughest, crappiest, slack screw thread which basically locked up the mechanism.Complete rubbish, I think I'll look elsewhere and see if I can get an old used coping saw somewhere.
