Works as advertised. Metal is aluminum, with predrilled holes that DO NOT match American wall stud spacing. In other words, you either use the super flimsy wall board anchors (my old unit just came out, so I didn't even consider it) or drill some holes in the aluminum and screw the unit into wall studs. The hooks will slide right over wood screws that are not countersunk perfectly, so no need to be overly concerned about countersinking screw heads into metal. Torque them down decently and it'll be fine.
