I have had the Simpson Clean Machine 3500 PSI 2.5 GPM Kohler SH270 Power Washer for over two years now. I did have some issues at the very beginning. I had orginally ordered the first one which did not work, wouldnt turn over and the water pump was damaged. Called Amazon and the woman on the phone made the request for another one, as I really did want this particular power washer, very easy. The first one was picked up two days later and the next one came two days after that. Five minute set up. Connected it to a hose, filled the gas tank, went through each step listed, and the power washer started first pull, which it does 99% of the time even after it has sat for a long time. Now, you may have noticed that two parts on this power washer are not OEM. The Gas Tank (which came dented in right where the cap attaches but it wasnt an issue so it didnt bother me at the time), and the Air Cleaner Assembly, only because the power washer tipped in the back of my vehicle after I accelerated too fast. Both we very easy to fix. I decided to change out the gas tank because the cap has been hard to place back on recently and there was a slight crack where the dent was that most likely formed as a result of taking the gas cap on and off. Power washer still runs very well and I know I will get many years of service out of it. If I had to say anything truly negative about this power washer it wouldnt be about the washer. The service cleaner, that came as a bundle to the power washer, never worked right. It would get to full speed and then die back down immediately. I ended up getting rid of it just this year and I plan to get a better one sometime this year or next.

Everything on this works perfect now but in the beginning I had a major issue. It started perfect the first time I ran it. The second time I started it on the first pull from the cord it broke the coil that retracts the cord. I was so angry I about packaged it up and returned the entire thing. After having spent the amount, I did, I expect something to last more than just 24 hours before having complications. After I calm down, I dismantled the entire pull cord system, took the broken pieces out, re-wrapped the coil, then wound and tightened the pull cord. With everything reassembled the pull cord mechanism is a little bit tight, but it starts the machine up on the first pull every time. The scrapper is nothing to get too excited about. It ran perfect for the first consistent 30 minutes I used it. After that, the rotation began to slow down to the point that it would no longer rotate at all. I find myself having to clean out the nozzle and dismantle the entire thing just to reassemble it and get it to spin again. Other than that I’ve had no further issues arise since that first day and it has been running strong ever since aside from the scrubber. I may have just had a single defective piece in the entire machine and because of the time I had to spend repairing it myself it lost 1 star otherwise if there would have been no problems this would definitely be a 5 star item. As for the scrubber that’s included 2-3 star.

Great product. Dependable engine, but Quality assurance on assembly was lacking: Got it shipped, and part of the water receptacle was bent. I needed it, so I used it. The wheels fell off because they had failed to put on the 2 clips to hold each one in place -- I'm assuming they're clips, so I pulled it out of the mud and wired them in place. On the exhaust muffler, one hex head screw was missing -- still is after 25 hrs os use -- but with all that, it is still a strong, dependable unit that I would buy again. I never attempted to contact Simpson since I work remotely and knew whatever was awry could fix. I'd give it 5 stats except the above...
