Great firewall and UTM
I bought this unit to replace a Juniper SRX100 I have, the Fortinet has a much nicer GUI and therefore its much easier to configure out of the box and get up and running when comparing the two.I like the features that are included as well, UTM and reporting etc. You can upload your daily logs to a "cloud" site hosted by Fortinet for free - it is limited in terms of log size but you can increase this if you wish - for a fee.As I said set up was a breeze - I dont miss my SRX at all. I am using the UTM to provide controls for our iPad and web browser for our son, this seems to be working pretty well in spite of his protests about it.The unit and the OS is very stable and the online resources provided by fortinet are pretty good - they have several videos to get you up and running quickly. The also provide cookbooks and documentation easily available online to figure out how to configure and setup for your network. I am using this unit at home and utilizing both WAN ports which is super easy - I can now route web traffic out my fast connection and other traffic out my slower but more higher priority second connection. Its easy to use both Static and DHCP ISP addressing they really have thought about it - no surprise here the guy that started fortinet used to work at Juniper and left to start up on his own. Its not cheap by any means but you are getting an awful lot for your money in this unit.

Great Value
Great device. If you are are not familiar with firewalls/routers/utms in general buy this device and run through the setup wizard. If you have any questions about this device let me know. I moved over from Cisco to Fortinet, because of cost for my clients. If you are unsure about purchase Google Gartner Firewall report. These rank high and the cost is low.

Rather expensive for the features. FortiOS is great and the hardware is great but the subscriptions really drive up the price. In a market where major names are giving free versions of their products for home usage (less than X number of IPs), FortiNet is missing out. The web GUI is a little counter intuitive when it comes to VLANS but it was manageable.

Totally unimpressed so far...
So here's the thing: when you purchase this router, it's usually bundled with a support contract. In other words you pay a premium on top of the cost of the unit for support. Now, you might expect that since the company is selling you a support contract on top of the product, they could use the extra revenue to provide a reasonable level support. In the case of Fortinet, you'd be mistaken.I purchased a 60D which I've been unable to configure for my network. But that's what support is for, right? That's what I paid extra for, right?I have now waited 45 minutes one time and over and hour a second time to speak to a support representative on the same ticket. On the first call we were unable to resolve the issue and I was asked to try a few things then call back. The call back also resulted in over an hour wait. This would be a reasonable level of support if I hadn't paid extra for it. But if I pay for support I expect actual support, not endless wait times. This router is very likely going back in the box and back to Fortinet.
