These blinds are fantastic for the $
These blinds are fantastic for the $. Even though they are not embossed they look amazing and are easy to install with a 3" drill bit. They can be cut to size on a standard table saw even though they have metal headrails. The are about 1/2 of what big box stores charge with the added advantage that these can be ordered in several heights. 36", 48", 60" and even more, so no having to spend hrs shortening them from the standard 64" that stores sell. The headrail cover is a very expensive looking 3" valance much nicer than I have seen on major brands. Overall they look custom made and everyone who has seen them asks where I go them and why they fit so perfectly. We had wood which warped and sagged due to the humidity here in Hawaii and these are so light weight and easy to clean too and the strings will not fray from the weight. A great product!

Not recommended to a newby! If you have never hung blinds before, don't get these!
It looks great. The reason I am giving it a 3 star is because it only works because I was able to figure out a way to make it work. Let me explain. The instructions and items are set up to go into the ceiling. Well, I put this on my front door, so mounting on the ceiling was not an option. But even if I wasn't, I have 10 foot ceilings in my home, so that would not have worked for me either. The instructions are very limited and do not explain well, so if you are not sure what you are doing, this is not something you should get. There is nothing I could do about connecting the bottom, so it moves around every time the door is opened. I would try another brand if using on a door, not really made for that. The item itself is exactly what I wanted as far as the blind. Nice and sturdy. Beautiful, in fact. But I cannot give it more than 3 stars because of the mounting capabilities and lack of instructions and hardware to hand it up.

They're blindy, but not too dark, you know?
BlindsThese are blindy. They have blind things on them, thick ones, none of those weak skinny ones that crackle and pop when you look out of the window to spy on someone. These are big, chunky blinds, which makes the whole thing a bit heaver. Don't stand a spinning chair like I did to install these (that was dumb) --- just wait for your SO to get home to help, Tin the Toolman.Would I buy these again? Sure, if some of the other cheapo blinds in my rented house break. These worked well, cover the large window in my office, and do not completely black out the window. If you want a blacked-out window, get some blackout curtains, Vlad.a billiion stars would buy again

Easy to install
We bought a new house and had a lot of windows to handle. You'd think the windows would be a standard size, but they were not (almost, but not quite). In that case, these mounts were versatile enough to support screws into the top (header) or the side (of the window opening). After I figured out the best way to mount these, they went up like a dream. Hardly any effort at all required and they look nice. The whole house matches and they look great. I particularly like the cords to open and close the blinds (tilt). Those rod style blinds always seem to break quickly and leave me fishing for the little knob to tilt them, this one has my expectations up for a reliable operation.

PERFECT FIT
It was astounding to find that the fit was perfect and that the manufacturer's instructions for measurement for an 'inside -mount' installation were dead-on. Installed in less than a half-hour and looks great with the attractive valance that was included. Compared to many competitors the price/quality ratio is excellent. Lot of visibility when open, and full privacy when closed in either direction (not intended to fully darken the room). Couldn't be happier. I'll be back for several more for my smaller windows.

Poor quality - Inspect immediately, and be prepared to return before time expires
When I placed the blinds in the brackets, I discovered the threads on the top left were either cut or not tied, and cannot figure out how to fix them. So the left side of the blinds are unsecured by support threads. Also, the mechanism attached to the open/close strings does not catch, so you would have to manually figure out how to open and close the blinds. We did not open package and install right away, so I'm beyond the return window. IF YOU BUY THESE, INSPECT THEM IMMEDIATELY FOR QUALITY!

Poor construction and customer service :(
They look nice. We had to take the blinds apart to correct the pull strings that open and close the blind panels. Was not an easy task; still not working 100%. Returns cost half the price of the blinds. Their customer service also stinks. Go with a different brand.

heavy duty blinds
I do like these blinds, but even though I measured my windows carefully I still had to trim the metal part down a little bit to fit inside my windows. They are heavy and the cord system to pull them up is a little heavy and takes getting used to so I gave the a 4 star because of the three cords you have to pull in order to pull the blinds to the top.
