it says fragrance-free but it has notably fragrant ingredients. does it mean no added fragrance or zero scent whatsoever?

This lotion is so good!  I have a very itchy and sensitive skin - and this seriously calms the itch and soaks right in. I don’t smell any kind of a scent and I use it every day.  I also ordered a small size for my purse so if you’re concerned, maybe you could order a small size and see if it works for you. I love it but I know if you have sensitive skin it’s all about finding what works for you.

Is there difference between this and other cheaper alternatives? Worth the try ?

Not know the contents of the cheaper brands, it is hard to say. I always looks for products that are accepted by the National Eczema association, that contain collodial oatmeal and skin protectants. I have had eczema since I was 19 and I am 75 now. I have never found a produce that worked without these key ingredients. I use to soak in a tub with colloidal oatmeal. Noel’s day there are more products available. Ultimately, the decision is yours. I don’t want to have to go to the doctor for medication because I am not controlling my eczema
