Great Looking & Good Quality Pencils
I bought these to use on new 'adult' colouring books and found them to be perfect for the job. They are mid-priced Faber-Castell colouring pencils and are triangular in shape with small raised dots along the three faces for better grip. This makes them feel slightly unusual to begin with but I soon got used to them and found they felt comfortable and safe between my fingers after some usage. I thought it made the colouring more precise and improved accuracy on more intricately detailed page designs. There are 36 colours to choose from with a fantastic range which I felt was more than enough for my needs. They come in a reasonably solid hinged tin which keeps the pencils secure and protected from breakage. The colours produced are pretty vibrant and achieved with, what I would describe as reasonable, but not great pressure on the page. The pencils sharpen easily and I haven't experienced any points breaking either while sharpening or when colouring. Visually, the pencils look well made and have a look of quality, that I and others were impressed by. They would make a lovely present for children, teenagers or adults who want to try out one of the new 'adult' colouring books and need some new colouring pencils. There are cheaper colouring pencils available from Faber-Castell themselves, also BIC & Staedtler, as well as a more professional range from Faber-Castell with their 'Polychromos' colour pencils which come at a cost. I guess you usually get what you pay for and this particular set looks great and does the job for me and I can definitely recommend them.

Great pencils for a good price
I am an amateur artist and I used Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Grandchildren ages 4-11 are coming to stay and I wanted good quality, versatile pencils for them to do arty things with me. I want them to be pleased with their work, and good pencils are essential for a good outcome and ease of use. Polychromos for 5 children would be way too expensive, so I took some advice and bought these. They are perfect. Also the Cowling and Wilcox service is excellent.

Great for the price
I initially ordered these pencils purely because of the price, which to me seemed great for a decent set of colouring pencils. Firstly, the only downside really is the fact the set came with a grey instead of a white which was shown on the front of the tin. For most people this probably won't be much of a problem, but as I like to do illustrations/artwork onto dark or coloured paper, a white is really useful for highlights. However the quality of the pencils is great, they colour smoothly, and they are water soluble which is an added bonus for easy blending. Also, the shape of the pencils and the added grip make them really comfortable to use for longer periods of time.I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good set of colouring pencils, whether it's for children or for more arty purposes.

Good quality colour pencils
Much better than the cheap stadler pencils. Quite soft and easy to blend.

Finally found the perfect set of pencils
If like me you spend hours reading reviews on every product available these are for you. I wanted some decent but not mega expensive pencils for my range of adult coloring books which I like to have lots of colour choice. They are brilliant. I have tried 3 other brands of pencils that just didn't seem to blend or let me add shadows and shading levels. The water colour part was also a bonus as I had never thought of using them before. There are plenty of colours and as people have mentioned they can be blended easily enough. They come in a fabulous hard wearing tin where all colours are visable. The grip function is great, they feel tough and durable. As they are also watercolour pencils the nibs can be quite soft but I find keeping them extra sharp helps if your using just as colouring pencils. I have added 1 pencil image and 1 watercolour image.. I would also get the sharpener to match. I wouldn't hesitate to order these again!

Awesome
My daughters love these. They find them a lot easier to use and they have more control when completing their artwork. They find the nib to be perfect as it doesn't cause damage to the paper when placing a lot of pressure for a darker finish in the various shades. It's really worth it.

1 Pencil missing!!
I am a great fan of Faber Castell products as they are almost without exception good quality so my disappointment was heightened initially with the packaging which looked as though it had been opened previously but then to find there was a total of only 47 pencils and not 48 and a couple of those had either been damaged or used which disappointed me immensely.
