How or why is this better or mire effective than just usinf peppermint essential oils?

It's not any better, just more expensive. You can easily make your own using peppermint oil, I also add a bit of spearmint. Just add water, an emulsifier, and the oils you like shake and spray. This product smells great, but didn't work at repelling any spiders, bugs, or mice.
