Well worth the money to take out the stress!

Used this for my 2015 GMC Terrain and it was a breeze! I do have some words of advice though! Make certain you ground it properly! Make certain to try and test it, if you can, before you put everything back together, just to have to pull it apart again!👍And when I say “check it”, I mean taillights, brake lights, and signals. I checked mine with the BAD ground and saw taillights and thought all was good. Later I was cussing when nothing but those worked🤦🏼‍♂️! They show you EXACTLY where to ground it, I just thought I knew better. WRONG!

I recently added a hitch to my fiancé’s 2011 Equinox as we are avid cyclists and liked the “Trailer-Hitch Bike rack” as opposed to other options out there. After installing the hitch we chatted about now using the Equinox for pulling her dad’s small fishing boat when we head up to Lake Wisconsin. As the towing weight would be well under the limit for the equinox, I decided to take a look at options for getting the lights on the trailer to work (since the towing package wasn’t originally selected for the vehicle, there was no connector present)This solution from Curt was the perfect purchase. The instructions were clear and installation was a breeze. The kit uses your existing brake light connections inside the tail light housings and effectively taps into them to provide power for your trailer lights. I was able to remove the housing, run the harness for that side up and into the light bay, connect the harness, and reinstall the housing. Repeat for the other side, mount (or leave loose) your main connector by the hitch, and you’re done!I spent more time using zip-ties to secure the wiring to the underside of the hitch than I did actually installing the harness in the vehicle.It was fast, easy, and gets the job done. A must-have if you are towing with your Equinox!And, it’s made in the USA!

The worst part about installing and using this had nothing to do with the product! I got one tail light assembly off only to find a black widow sitting there right about where my fingers had just been.. once I recovered from my heart attack the rest of the install was easy breezy.. I would recommend using a long thin pole or even a rope to drop down the inside of the car body and attach the right side connector to it, then pull it back up vs trying to shove your arm up through the body from under the car as the video showed, that seemed difficult and like a dirty job.. not to mention, now that I know spiders might like living in the body of ones very often used vehicle... I'm not sticking my hands or arms in dark places! I pulled the connector up with no issues at all using an old telescoping antenna and a piece of painters tape to attach the connector end to the antenna.

Product wonderful for correct vehicle! CHECK WITH CURT - I get many questions about it for newer vehicles. I can’t answer them !CalVERY easy to install. I had it done in about 15 - 20 minutes. Cable ties were too short but I had plenty others on hand. Worked great with no changes or adjustments needed when I picked up the U-Haul trailer. WONDERFUL product.
