Q: How to use this product?

mix with basecoat its a blender that usually hide mismatch shading of panels by adding in a small amount of basecoat(car color) or use as a midcoat by adding pearl or flake either application will still require clear coating after blend or pearl is cured

Q: What does this product actually do for me?

good for a mid coat for pearl and flake ,as well as being good for blending when painting a panel/fender Think of it this way most paint jobs are base coat and clear coat. This product will go in between when doing the above applications
