Very good cover. Secure and virtually waterproof, only a small amount of leaking at the tailgate. A few weird design issues like very sharp edges at the tailgate and a gap also at the tailgate. I used black gasket material to seal the gap. Overall I love the cover, it us really easy to open and close and looks really good.

for people who always ask about a bed cover that fit with RAM BAR , this is the one you need. installed on 2023 1500 TRX . perfect fitment and easy installation , had to take out the RAM BAR screw on the side of the inside of the bed , one on each side , that's all.

After looking at various options and brands, I bought the BakFlip MX4 for my 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 5'7 bed. After researching and visiting local auto parts retailers, I decided to go with this one based on the looks, reviews and ease of use.PROS:Easy Install: easily a one person install with minimal tools required. It comes with paper instructions, but there are multiple videos online that you can watch and follow step by step. I would recommend the videos over the paper, but the paper helps at times too. No need to have a pro do it unless you really don't feel like messing with it and want someone else to blame if it doesn't work properly. It should only take an hour or so at most. Even for the less than handy folks. It is lightweight so it can be installed/removed without needing a second person to help. My previous cover was a 1-piece hard cover and I always had to bug a friend to come help me put it on and take it off.Price: Local retailers were charging over $1,100 for the product and installation. You can find it all over the internet for a lot cheaper and install yourself to save a few hundred bucks. I went with Amazon because I had points and gift cards to use that brought the price down even more significantly.Looks: I like that it is 99% flush with the top of the bed and is a matte-ish black finish. It's a simple, clean design. Seems like it will be very durable too.CONS:Install: My main complaint is that while it is an easy install, I found that some important details were missing, such as exact placement of the top when lining things up. I spent A LOT of extra time trying to figure it out and look for videos or pictures that would help indicate where to line things up. All to no real avail. I think I got it 98% of the way there, but may need to go back and re-adjust slightly. Because close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.Weatherproof: It is not 100% waterproof. BakFlip states as much so don't go into this thinking it will be. Having said that, if it is installed correctly water really shouldn't be a big issue. Water should channel to appropriate areas and away from the truck bed, but if there are any gaps, it could get in. Now that we are having our first rain after installing it, I noticed a tiny bit of water in the bed so I will need to figure out where the problem areas lie so I can try to re-adjust it slightly(going back to my install "con") or find additional sealant solves such as weatherstripping tape. Less of a con and more of a reality I suppose. I will be taking it into the snow in a few weeks, so I will be curious how it handles that type of weather too.Security: While it normally requires the tailgate to be open to operate it out of its fully closed position, if a person really wanted to get into it, I don't think it would take a ton of effort to pop it open. So I wouldn't go storing your life savings and grandmothers pearls back there unattended for too long.I would highly recommend verifying you are purchasing from an Authorized BakFlip retailer because if they are not, chances are, the warranty will be voided.

It is very easy to install. All the components of the cover fit perfectly my 2008 RAM dodge truck. The cover itself is rigid enough to support the truck bed without sagging. The lock mechanism is on the whole length of the cover on both sides. There are no water leaks at all except at the truck gate. This is normal to me. Otherwise opening the truck gate would be difficult because of the need to maintain a tight seal. So don't expect complete waterproofness at the truck gate (the water simply runs down the inside of tailgate and exits the vehicle). Using aerospace 303 spray really helps keep the new shiny look to the cover. Rolling the cover up is without difficulty. And rolling it back down brings the covet back exactly to the latches. This means the cover doesn't move around. Installation requires being on your knees in the truck bed for about 30 minutes. No special tools except a knife and socket set! I am very pleased with this product because it is conscientiously designed to work as advertised. Plus the 90 lb. Box was delivered by Fed Ex with not damage at all.

This was put on a 2020 RAM 1500 new body style 5'7'" bed. Delivered in two days. Shipping and Packaging was top notch. Re-enforced corners and heavy duty packaging. Everything was in the box and undamaged. READ the directions from front to back at least 4 times this made the install flawless. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish and I did it by myself. I took my time and made sure it was lined up correctly. As the install book says " its all about getting it square. I also used a tape measure to check everything, even though it is not suggested in the install book. I also put a little dry lube on part of the latch to make it work better. I will follow up after a good rain and a couple days to let you know how that goes. From what I could tell it should be pretty much water proof except some little areas up by the tailgate.March 19 2020 ... It has now been several days and several rains and temperatures from the 30'e top to the 70"s. Still no issue or leaks at this time. I took it into the dealership for a maintenance oil change and got several comments on how nice it looked. I also received the extra rubber bumpers as I requested at no charge. Still 5+ stars for service and quality of the product. I highly recommend this product.April 22 2020. Has been over a month now and still 5 stars plus. Water tight and Very easy to unroll and roll closed. Looks great and will update in about 6 monthsJuly 28 2020. Has been 4 months now. Still 5+ Stars. Got to try it on a 1000+ mile road trip last week and was looking to see if my MPG would go up. I was surprised that it went up a solid 3 MPG on highway usage. At 74mph cruising control I was 22 mpg. That is with no extra load. Still water tight and no leaks. I still think it goes back to the install. TAKE your time. If I had anything to whine about it would be that it gets hot in the bed of the truck with this closed...duh...don’t think they can fix that lol. Just pack accordingly.Theses are just my observations and may be different on other makes and models. Highly recommend.Oct 07/2020. Still strong 5+ stars. No issues to date. I did add a THIN piece of weather stripping between the tailgate and cover just because... but has never leaked yet. Great investment.

For the money this product is lacking.1 - On the 2019 Ram classic Frye front seal does not seal against the cross member of the box at the front a 3/8” gap is there and causes road dust and rain to enter the box.2 - Setup takes a while to ensure it is installed square on the box making the seal at the front see #1 worse.3 - Even when installed square the last clamp nearest the tailgate can only be installed about 3.5 inches back which means the rail twists when you try to close the last section of the cover. It is usually best to close it with tailgate open and pull the cables slightly to help close it.Final opinion I feel like construction of the cover itself it good but the fit ent and sealing is lacking on the Ram Classic. If I had been able to install this and known how bad these problems I would have not purchased, not worse the price point. I have Mari Ed some of the problems by using close foam tape for problem 1 and custom machined brackets for problem 3 but not everybody has access to a machine shop.I don’t expect a perfect seal as it is a truck box but I have had other less expensive options that have done better.
