One thing straight away, and it seems to be most adjustable razors in my experience, but they tend towards being slightly more aggressive than your typical closed comb razors. It’s not true in 100% of cases, but seems to be fairly true of this one. The first couple of settings are TOO mild & by the time you get to the 3rd setting? You’ve got yourself a moderately aggressive shaver 💯 Don’t let that intimidate you, it’s not nearly as bad as some would lead you to believe, but for me to get around the newfound “aggression” of my shaver? I did something that seems counterintuitive, I put an aggressively sharp Feather blade in it set to setting #4 and now? I get a perfect shave EVERY time with no irritation or nicks 🤷🏻‍♂️ Putting an aggressively sharp Feather blade into a razor that ends towards aggression seems like the last thing you’d want to do, but in this instance? It worked beautifully!! This is a very well made budget safety razor that will last you a VERY LONG TIME if even occasional maintenance is done to it. I’m impressed!! I’m a little shocked the rating isn’t even higher than what’s shown. But this is a MUST BUY if you’re a wet shaver 💯💯

Tried everything from disposable to replaceable cartridge to even OneBlade (tm)... Decided I've had enough and ready to try DE razor, as cost of those items have gone up, and DE blades are dirt cheap (If you use one DE blade a week, $10 will get you 100 blades, which is enough to last you 2 YEARS!) The actual item did not disappoint. The butterfly mechanism works exactly as shown... The top opens and you can load the DE blade easily. Reverse spin to close. This is an adjustable razor, which means the angle of the blade can be adjusted slightly to provide a sharper... or shallower shave. If you just started using DE razors, keep the setting low (2-3). If you need sharper angles (closer shave) then turn up the settings gently to maybe 5 or 6, and remember to use plenty of shaving gel or foam or whatever you use. I chose an adjustable, but you can pick a "fixed" razor to save a few bucks, it just won't be this model. And they have different finishes to suit your mood... silver/steel, pewter, rainbow chrome, and so on. This came with 5 of their own branded blades to get you started, and as I don't have very thick facial hair, I only use about one a week. It is somewhat surprising that I need to replace them that quickly, but then, you don't want to shave with a dull razor, even a DE razor. Turning up the angle setting doesn't really help. I've tried. As mentioned before, if you use one blade a week, $10 will last you TWO YEARS. Even the famous H-brand razors with replaceable heads runs $18-20 a month! And these guys claim to have their own European factory making those heads themselves for savings! You'll make back what you spent on these in just a few months! So if you want to give DE razors a try, this one is great. It's not super-weighty, it's not "crafted from aircraft aluminum", it's just a solid DE razor you can shave with, and it works well.

I recently made the transition to this product from Harry's disposables as I was concerned over the waste that kind of razor generates. I was nervous about cutting my face up with this style razor, but as the name implies, it's quite safe and easy to use! I chose this razor because of its style and price and I don't regret it. It's got a satisfying heft, the matte black finish looks handsome and feels nice to the touch. While I didn't notice an enormous difference between the numbered settings, all around, I felt like I was getting a really close and comfortable shave, moreso than I'd ever gotten with disposables. Before purchasing, the butterfly top made me nervous. However, once I got to see/feel how this mechanism works I felt a lot better. The blade feels very secure once the top is closed. The only disappointment I have had with this razor is after the first shave, the razor head got clogged with hair, and there's no easy way to remove it. I kept looking for a latch or some trick to loosen it: swirling it under water, under the faucet, etc. Ultimately I had to get in there with a small pick and manually remove the clumps of hair by hand. Other than that, this is a great razor that I look forward to using for many years to come!

This is my first experience with a safety razor like this and I must say, I’m loving it! The shave so close and ZERO bumps or burns. The adjustment in the handle is still a littler hard to understand and the directions in the box weren’t helpful, but I just keep it around 3/4 and it seems to work perfectly. The quality is very nice. It’s heavy, feels very solid and gives the impression of a well made razor. The blades are super cheap too, as specially compared to other options like disposables. I use the blades 4 or 5 times then toss them and they have no problem holding up to that use. I just use each side once then flip it and repeat. One could probably use them more, but why take a chance at the price. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone that’s interested in switching to a safety razor

Appeared well made. Very heavy bit okay but one of the blade retainers came off. May have been dropped but ultimate rather fragile. That being said I did like it a lot

I have to start off by saying that I really like the size and weight of this razor. It’s comfortable for me to use, but the shave quality is another matter. With a blade installed and tightened into place, the adjustment collar will only go down to about 2 1/2 and that does not result in a mild shave (there is quite a bit of blade feel at that setting). After you get to around 4, the blade starts to tilt in the head and gets worse as the setting increases; the blade gap becomes large at one end of the head and small at the other. This results in an inconsistent shave with several nicks. The razor body is fine, but the mechanism is very flawed.

Lo que no me gustó es que el ajuste para rasurada suave, tiene que moverse a la marca MAX cada vez que se pone o se quita la Navaja.

Cabezal desalineado. Cuando se mueve el dial para seleccionar el grado de mínimo a máximo la base se desalinea lo que origina que la hoja corte de manera desigual y por lo tanto peligroso. Hay reseñas de lo anterior, no lo compren, no arriesguen su cara y mejor compren otra marca. MERKUR O VIKINGS BLADE SIN DUDA!!!!
