We recently moved into a new apartment and now have a glass top stove. We also have two cats that are very curious and like to be on the counters which can be an issue when cooking, or after cooking cause I'm afraid they'll burn themselves when walking across the stove. So we've been using this to cover the burners after cooking to add a small protective layer in case they decide to walk across the stove while we're not looking. We've also been using this to put under pots after cooking to protect the counters, and I even used it when I made a diy sugar wax, which I poured on the silicone mat to cool. We haven't used it in the microwave yet but overall this has been a great product for us, and has wonderful versatility (it's also easy to clean). I'm very impressed and happy with our purchase.

This is remarkable in the design. It has a sort of lip that slightly sets up off the floor of the microwave . I wondered why it was that way, as my old one from 10 years ago, sat flat on the micro floor. The old one could be a bit difficult to remove if there was a spill. plus I had to use hot pad to remover the hot dish. But this one easily allows the edges to be raised so both hands can cradle the hot dish and remove it over to the counter without the need of 2 awkward hot pads. It is great because it can be sat directly on the counter without fear of it damaging the counter. I have been giving them to my friends and family as gifts. We all love it.

I bought 2 of these. I keep one on the tray in the microwave and the other on the counter next to the stove. They're large enough to cover the microwave tray nearly edge to edge. Just measure to be sure. Since I mostly just heat things in my microwave, I keep the flat side up. Any splatters are easily rinsed off. And it's so much easier to just fold up the sides and remove hot dishes. I don't need to use my oven mitts for the microwave anymore. Just make sure you have a firm grasp on the sides of the plate or support it with your hand underneath. I use the one next to the stove to hold hot items that I remove from the oven. These are very handy and exactly what I was looking for. I'm happy with the purchase.

This mat is so versatile! I bought it on a whim because it had a few rave reviews on Tik Tok. I am glad I bought it because it can be used as a trivet for hot pans or tea kettles. It can be used to grab hot pan handles (especially great if you use cast iron pans). I have not tried to grab anything out of an oven with it though (you would have to make sure it is oven safe). It is great to put under bowls in the microwave to prevent spilling (or if you have hot bowls of soup). I love using it to grab hot bowls of soup from the microwave (will be a must have for winter season). You can also use it to cover plates or bowls on the microwave to prevent splatter. It is easy to clean and it comes in a few different colors. I chose the grey because it matches my kitchen colors. It is a thicker mat that is like a flexible rubber material. I would buy again! Would also make a great gift

This keeps my microwave clean and I don't worry about breaking the glass tray underneath when I carry it to the sink to clean it (which I simply don't do anymore!). When I have a spill, it's easy to remove and clean in the sink. I own 2, so while one is drying, I put the other in the microwave.

The material feels more “plastic” than “rubber” which I actually like for this purpose. It doesn’t suction to smooth surfaces and easily slides around as needed. I love that it has multiple uses: it can live in the microwave as a way to catch spills, covers to prevent splatters, then can be used to pick up plates and bowls that get hot in the microwave, then as a trivet to protect your table! The honeycomb design works well to insulate or catch liquid spills, but it is a bit of a pain to clean as food can catch against every edge. But it’s not terrible, as silicone is nonstick in nature.

Don’t know why silicone microwave platter mats aren’t readily available in shops, just online, because they are so much better to place mugs, plates, bowls etc on than on the glass platter. Everything sits firmly and doesn’t slide around, and there’s no ‘clatter’ when place things on it. I purchased this one because its large size (31cm diameter) covers most of my microwave’s extra large glass platter, and because its raised pattern catches minor spills which are easily rinsed off, instead of leaving a mess on the glass platter which is cumbersome to clean. It’s also great to put on the kitchen bench to place hot dishes on straight out of the oven. Money well spent.
