LICAH Aquarium Plants LED Growing Light LDP-300 (12 inch ~ 14 inch)

I am using this light to replace one of my Marineland plant LED light, which keep failing and losing brightness.I've had this light on my tank for about a month, and the added plant growth is amazing. The light comes with a dimmer remote, and can be hand-dimmed on the attached switch as well, which seems to work better for me. Based on reading some reviews, I bought the "programmable timer" as well, but have not taken the time to figure the programming out at this point. Rather plugged the light into a simple $8 mechanical on/off timer, which seems to work perfectly. Unless you want to recreate the dawn/dusk effect of sun-up and sun-down in the tank, you do not need the timer. My tank is about 24" deep and the light penetrates very well to the bottom. No more blue algae on the bottom of the tank, yay! The red/purple LED's enhance any reddish hue on your plants very nicely as well. In addition, the heat output of this light is hugely less than that of the Marineland fixture, which helps with evaporation/water loss in the tank, and it sits about 6 inches above the tank as well, which keeps water splashes off the plastic cover over the LED's. A lot less cleaning necessary that way. Unless you have a hood covering the fixture, though, you will be able to see the LED's and the the "backlit" effect off the wall might be a little much. Not knowing yet how long this fixture lasts and how long it stays as bright, I would definitely buy it again, and much prefer it over the Marineland units, so far.

Wow, what a light! I did a ton or research before purchasing this light. I was looking for a cost effective LED solution that would support the PAR required for carpeting plants for my 30 gallon long shrimp aquarium. As I am just setting this tank up, I have yet to test this light on actual plants. I can say that the light is very slim, and looks great perched on top of the tank. The controls are intuitive and it is easy to switch between the 'white' channel and the 'blue/red" channel. You can also have both on at the same time and dim the intensity to create a custom output. I did run into a small issue with the power supply not set for 120 volts. It caused the light to flicker (strobe) and then turn off after a few minutes.I contacted LICA and they responded right away with detailed instructions to set the power supply to the correct voltage. I know that they have just recently started selling this light here in the US. Hopefully this problem will be fixed on subsequent orders.

I've only had it on for a few days but it's doing a nice job. The controls are a little tricky so read the instructions. I finally figured out how to dim and turn one set on versus the other. Don't panic if the fan doesn't start up right away. It will. If you watch it, when it gets hot it turns itself on and off. There's an extra cord in the box so you're connecting multiple items. Be sure to unbox the whole thing or you'll get confused. Also, you'll need a screwdriver to remove cardboard inside the box with the fan [it's a protector]. Read the instructions! It seems pretty sturdy and it's very bright. I'll update in another few months as I'm testing it on Wisteria right now. I plan on making my smaller tank a planted / Blue German Ram tank.

Fits my Aqeuon 210 perfectly. The light source providesmore than enough light to the bottom of my 24 inch tank. Perfect for growing carpet type plants. I also purchased the timer/dimmer to adjust the brigtness and set the number of hours my tank receives light. You are also able to adjust the red, blue, green and white light. It was recommended to me by a fellow hobbyist. I we also recommend.

The light works great, but the power supply makes a disconcerting whine on occasion. The remote and buttons are awkward to get accustomed to, but the remote works as advertised. The fish look great. The plants are thriving. I am happy with it.

Would have given it 10 stars, but, that was not an option.Got the light mounted today and it looks great. Just now ordered a second one. Only con the cable between the power supply and the light is too short, but that should be an easy fix.

The Items outer body parts are not great quality, cheaply made imo. LED splash guard is a flimsy piece of plastic. The LEDs emit good light that my plants are happy with but with the overall quality of the lights body I’m worried about the quality and engineering of the LEDs. I’ve also tried contacting the licah support team for the warranty info on the light but no response. May return if no response. A good warranty promise will make this light worth the $160 but without warranty I’d say $80-$90 or don’t buy one.
