Product great, Amazon terrible
The product is excellent, enough of a challenge with technical elements to make the finished toy a huge success. Amazon sent it without any packaging at all, just postage labels, barcodes plus their normal amazon tape stuck to the box so it looked awful.

Good fun
Bought this as a Christmas present for my four-year-old cousin, who loves building and has a great interest in engineering. He describes it as 'rather cool'; high praise indeed.

Terrible building toy, buy lego instead!
Terrible toy. My very clever 8 year old could not build this and he builds 3.000 piece lego sets +14yrs and older with no help. Poor quality, horrible instructions. We gave it as a gift before we knew and those parents said exactly the same. I wish I could send it back but it's part built.

A perfect construction set for any budding engineer
K'NEX was one of my favourite construction sets as I was growing up as a kid (on a par with Lego) and even though I am no longer (officially) a kid, I still love building with K'NEX.The majority of K'NEX models (including this demolition truck) are reasonably straightforward to construct and come with reasonably clear instructions as to the specific parts which need to be fitted together. All of the parts in this set are standard K'NEX parts (albeit, the colours may be different to other sets which you may have) and easily connect together. This particular model took me about half an hour to construct. This set is designed for the 7-12 age bracket however, I think it would still be suitable for those above that age bracket (but possibly not below, given that there are some very small parts included)One of the things I love about K'NEX is that once you have completed the model shown in the instruction booklet, you can go "off piste" and build other models as available parts and your imagination would permit.A brilliant K'NEX set overall, how can you go wrong?

Tested with an 8 year old Lego fan
From the perspective of an adult, the product is great quality and appears to a different take on Lego Technic. Batteries aren't supplied. The same small issue of losing a piece ruins the product, is still the case here. I'm sure the manufacturer will help out should that be the case though. I was a bit worried that the pieces maybe a bit weak and break but that's not the case, thankfully.Handing it over to my nephew gives the true test as he's the target age group and loves building things. He's a seasoned Lego user and well adept at following the instructions. He took the K'Nex up to his room and a few hours later re-appeared with one of the designs completed. He had to get adult help twice during the build but this was because it was a bit tough for him to perform the step as opposed to not knowing how. What he had produced was pretty big and impressive in the time. The little truck was solid and he played with it testing it going over rough terrain. He really liked it and readily shows it off. The only negative he has it that it doesn't have any form of remote control. I expect that comes with the more expensive kits? He's now getting more for Xmas!

Educational and great fun.
K’NEX Imagine – 4WD Demolition Truck Building Set – 212 Pieces – Ages 7+ – Engineering Educational ToyIn the box.212 pieces which make the vehicle. The pieces are compatible with other K’nex kits and addons. There are plans for three working models in the box. You will need to buy 2 x AA batteries to work the motor.Educational value. These kits teach planning, 3D thinking and building skills. On top of this you learn about gears, how 4WD works plus building these kits is great fun for the kids (and parents too !).Difficulty.The plans are very logical and well laid out. The kit is aimed at 7 to 12-year olds and I cannot see kids in these age groups fining it too hard. It is a well thought out kit.Overall.A really good kit which is both educational and great fun.

K'NEX Imagine - 4WD Demolition Truck Building Set - 212 Pieces - Ages 7+ - Engineering Toy
The 'K'NEX Imagine - 4WD Demolition Truck Building Set - 212 Pieces - Ages 7+ - Engineering Educational Toy' is a building toy set - complete with battery powered motor, which needs two AA batteries, so have some ready - with instructions on how to build three different four wheel drive vehicles from it (not all at once). I was a little surprised by this, as the other K'NEX sets we have had all made far more different models, but the boys didn't mind at all, and the more complex builds here engaged them very well, especially since the motor can make them really move (much to the cat's disgust). The builds are easy enough to make following the instructions, and of course there is always room for improvisation with building toys of this type. The kit uses STEM skills and imagination, which is a winning combination for me. Great kit.
