Saphir Cleaner Suede Nubuck Leather Omnidaim

UPDATE: This is THE ONLY decent product for cleaning suede and nubuck, particularly suede. I used others after my first try (review below) and they left a dirt ring around the treated area and did not clean the dirt! Even if they say for suede and nubuck they can't be trusted. HINTS: A gum eraser (not a pencil eraser) will remove slight everyday scuff marks from nubuck very easily without having to use a cleaner. Suede may be a little harder to clean with gum eraser but try. Also use a stiff brush from time to time on both suede and nubuck to keep them from building up dust. Dusty suede or nubuck is harder to clean well. Be sure to clean a spot ASAP - this stuff is like magic if used correctly. Let water help you clean and conserve product according to the enclosed instructions, which are pictures that show this: 1. Be certain to use a small stiff shoe brush (not provided) to raise the nap on area you want to treat. 2. Using the soft brush provided, apply a small amount of Omnidaim well over the area but don't over-soak it- see next step 3. Right away, rinse the soft brush in clean tap water and go over the treated area with the watery brush in a tight circular motion to raise a suds. You don't have to drench it but do not be afraid to get it wet - just not dripping wet. You don't need a full on lather, a little suds is all. 4. Rinse the brush clean and go again if you are not satisfied with suds. You might need a touch more product if no suds come up 5. Do not worry if the item looks dark or still dirty. Put the clean brush and product away and let your item completely dry, perhaps 24 hours. 6. Use the stiff brush on completely dry item to raise the nap again. ORIGINAL: It cleaned black marks off my blue suede jacket. Scary to see leather all damp/wet and foaming but use of a stiff brush before and after makes it looks great. The only drawback is the packaging. It is a French product and has several languages all over the box, hard to spot the English. The text is also very brief, and in fact only a few little pictures for How To Use. I got by OK though, just saying it is unexpected.

Works very well on nubuck renewal. This company makes the best shoe maintenance products available. Their shoe polish is the best I have used so it did not surprise me that their nubuck and suede cleaner was also superior to other products.

I bought this for cleaning a suede purse and it did a really phenomenal job once I found out how to use it. Use it at full strength directly from the bottle and scrub on to the suede till foaming. Rinse the cleaner by dipping the brush in clean water and scrubbing the area, and continue scrubbing with fresh water until the suds disappear. It’s not intended for spot cleaning so prepared to clean the entire piece of suede to avoid water spots. It’s very effective but I suggest doing some research before using it, and practicing on something you’re not attached to before trying on more expensive or sentimental items.

Cleaned the lightly soiled suede parts of my New Balance, but the deep stains remained. Easy to use. The small brush provided is a handy tool. Will consider alternative cleaning products to compare.

I’ve tried several alternatives in this category, but this product is in a league of its own. It is rare to find something that actually delivers on every promise made in the description, but this exceeded my expectations. Saphir is usually the king of shoe care products and as such, often have a hefty premium attached. I was trying to rescue some light colored suede shoes, so I figured I would go with the brand that is supposed to be the best. Not only is this product incredibly overpriced when compared to other well known alternatives, it also produces substandard results. The product is a paint to use, and it takes forever to get rid of the suds after the product has been brushed in. It required a ton of water which of course lead to water stain lines which means the whole shoe had to be soaked to even it out. Now I have shoes that area several shades darker and not that much cleaner. At the end of the day, this is too expensive, requires more work and time than it should and produces substandard results.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures of my women's boots before I cleaned them with this cleanser. The difference is truly stunning. I had contemplated throwing my boots away, because they were so stained and dingy looking after two full winters of use. But I decided to try cleaning them well instead. I am exceedingly pleased. They look almost brand new now! I cleaned them very quickly, dunking the brush in a tiny bit of the cleaner and using a gentle, but fast swirling motion, giving extra attention to the particularly dirty spots, but cleaning ALL of the suede. I then gently rinsed the boots with a wet, cold water cloth, and dabbed them dry with a towel. I decided to stuff some socks down in the toe area while they dried, hoping to eliminate some of the creases that had permanently settled into the ridge of the boots near the toe area from years of use. This helped tremendously, as the creases almost disappeared completely. The color was also rejuvenated with the cleaning. Super product. Thank you!

Works well, use a 2 part water 1 part cleaner ratio. You may need to clean more than once for stubborn stains. Also if it's oil based stain not much is going to help you.

Maintenir nickel ses chaussures en nubuck, noir, c'est un challenge du quotidien : brossage, nettoyage des bords blanc de la semelle à lingette javel, application d'un rénovateur (marque Bexley) en spray, imperméabilisation ... Ce nettoyant de SAPHIR est un game changer : il s'appliquer juste après le brossage de dépoussiérage. Verser un peu de liquide dans une coupelle (je prend un couvercle de confiture) et frotter vigoureusement avec la brosse rigide en poil synthétique. Ça forme une sorte de mousse blanche, qui s'estompe trés rapidement, et le cuir reprend un noir profond. Au début, j'ai pensé que c'était du au liquide (avant séchage des produits, le noir est toujours trés profond). Mais après une nuit de séchage, surprise ! Le noir profond est toujours, la chaussure parait comme neuve ! Je le recommande sans hésiter, bien plus efficace que les rénovateurs de daim / nubuck que j'ai pu tester jusque là.

I purchased this on a recommendation from a really high end shoe company & I’m not disappointed on the results. This cleaner is a bit more exspensive but it’s worth every penny! Really great results on a pair of dirty suede boots. The brush doesn’t last very long but an old toothbrush does the same job. I can’t recommend this enough & it will be my go- to cleaner from now on, miles better than your run of the mill suede cleaners!
