I got this to prep potatoes for a Xmas dinner scallop potato recipe. I have a Cuisinart but its big to lug out and clean up and I don't have a thin slicing blade. This slicer gave me thin potato slices that were perfect for this recipe. The grater worked well on a small block of cheese too. It was easy to use and clean up was quick. I like the drawer unit and the adjustable slicing widths. Its also easy to store and put together unlike a lot of clunky big appliances. I've tried the julienne blade too but it didn't work well for me. It could have been user error as I'm new with this. The blades are sharp and exposed, be very careful and don't get sloppy. I made sure my hand placement was never near that blade. I use band saws and woodworking equipment so I'm used to always staying clear and being alert, the same applies with this slicer. (Do not let kids near it!) For the money its a good purchase. I would recommend it for small jobs though. For large sized items (unless you can cut into smaller pieces) or a large quantity to process; get a machine. I will also add that the company selling this is customer friendly and cares about user satisfaction. Mine came with a defect in the plastic. While it didn't prevent usage, the bottom of the drawer had a mottled plastic look making it hard to clean. I contacted the company (this was right before Xmas on a weekend too) and they immediately got back to me and sent me a brand new one, even though I just needed a drawer. So if you have issues, don't hesitate to let them know.

Love it!!! Easy to use, uniform slicing
This is a great mandoline slicer, really sharp blades that are easy to change, an aggressive food holder and a sturdy non-slip container make it so easy to use. Easy to clean too, I rinsed the blades immediately after use and used the edge of a sponge to wash them, I also dried them right away. I like that all the parts fit into the container for storage, although you might want to pay attention to how they are placed before you unpack them. This arrived, washed it and had 6 small potatoes perfectly sliced in less time then it takes to wash and cut the eyes out of the potatoes. I used baby carrots with the spiral slicer and it worked, but larger carrots would have worked much better. I also sliced a couple carrots using the regular blade and they stained the white plastic a little, no big deal to me, but it happened. I'm sure if you ran the piece thru the dishwasher it would come right out, but I hate using the dishwasher for plastics as it makes them brittle over time. Here are a couple tips for use with any mandoline slicer... Cut the vegetable in half so you have a flat surface to work with. Empty the container frequently so the food doesn't fill to the level of the blade. The container on this slicer is large enough to hold 6 small to medium potatoes, but I did have to tip it up a couple of times so there was room under the blade for more slices.

Sturdy, Compact, and Easy to Use
It's solidly made, and reasonably sized. I was able to stow all of it's extra blades and the spiral cutter, as well as the hand guard and glove, in the plastic catch bin. Someone mentioned the top slicing board, the part without the blade, which you can adjust the cut depth with, does not come apart, and could potentially harbor germs. I'd recommend tossing it in the dishwasher to sanitize it. You can lift up the black part a little bit, maybe a quarter-to-half inch, and pick out any vegetable debris that might get in there. I used mine to slice potatoes for making potato chips. It worked perfectly and only a little bit of the potato skin got stuck in that black adjustable part. It was easily removed though.

Wonderful product
I love this mandolin slicer. The blades are incredibly sharp, all different blades work super well, and I like that you’re able to change the thickness level when slicing veggies. It is very sturdy and slicer surface stays put, does not wobble like some of the cheaper ones. The storage drawer is fairly large and easy to empty when full. I like that it comes with the veggie holder that make it very safe to continue slicing when you get to the end of the vegetable. The blades are very easy to clean, the little brush helps. Just be careful when cleaning them, I got distracted once and now wear the glove that came with the set when cleaning the blades. I have not yet used the spiral slicer since I already have one that I like. *My one tiny nit picky negative point is that I would not recommend putting the drawer into the dishwasher at all. I put mine in the dishwasher on the upper shelf as stated in the description, and while the shape held up and the outside is fine, the inside must have melted a little bit and portions of the drawer are now a bit rough and cloudy looking.*

Great machine when you read the instructions
The product is very good for the price. Don't try to compare it to a $100 slicer. This unit is larger than many others in the same and lower price range and is easy to clean. I don't know why others are having an issue with cleaning, just some hot water, soap and a better brush works just fine. My wife has used it to slice many cucumbers for pickling and I have used it to slice potatoes to make potato chips. The machine functioned smoothly without mushing. Yes the instructions are a bit short on information but it doesn't take a scientist to see how it works. As for safety, read the instructions, use the glove and follow the safety tips. So if you are looking for a machine that is easier to clean, that has more safety features, slices every last bit of the vegetable and is dishwasher safe, spend the big bucks for an overpriced machine. I won’t and I didn’t.

Turns tomatoes into mush
Okay.... here's my opinion so far: 1). It chopped (diced) onion okay.... if you like tiny little pieces (great for salsa, but not soup, etc). Even on the largest setting the prices were VERY small. Wonder what they'd be on the smaller settings?? 2). Makes good thin onion slices. We use these on sandwiches. 3). Even with a very firm tomato I pretty much got a Very few good slices on the thickest setting, along with a lot of mush. The problem is that it won't cut the tomato skin.... it tends to push the skin into the tomato, resulting in a mashed tomato. (mush). It wastes A LOT of tomato. I just happened to be cooking soup, so I threw the tomato mush into the soup. 4). The main reason I bought the thing was to make zucchini chips, so I needed very thinly sliced zucchini. It did pretty good for that. The slices were very thin but a little inconsistent (maybe I didn't apply pressure consistently??). It would probably do good on cucumbers, apples and stuff with that firmness. Bottom line: So-so. It's a lot to wash and store. Okay if you're planning on cutting a lot. If you just want to slice one onion or one tomato..... use a knife and cutting board. Absolutely not for use on tomatoes.

This thing does a great job!
When I first got this I was a little disappointed, it was smaller than it looked in the pictures on the listing. I figured I would give it a try to see how it would do, tried it with a tomato 🍅 first and I set it to the #2 setting and and it worked great. Nice even slices just perfect for sandwiches or burgers. I figured I would end up with tomato goo but it did a great job. Then I sliced up an onion on the 3 setting and it did a great job. Then cucumbers and again an excellent job. The rubber pads on the bottom hold it to the counter and doesn't slide around while your using in. The container under the slicer is deep enough to hold multiple tomatos, onions or cucumbers. All in all very pleased with it and I think it is worth the money, especially if you do a lot of slicing.

Incomplet

Amazing service
Over the moon with the service our first one arrived slightly broken and the company were really quick to send us out a new one at no additional cost. Tried it out as soon as it arrived and its so easy to use and all the added safety features make it reassuring to use. Would deffo buy again.

Dangereux
