I got this movie for my high school Spanish 3 class because we had just finished a chapter that had vocabulary having to do with sports. i wanted them to be able to relax and enjoy a movie and I wanted to build confidence in their understanding. They LOVED it. It also worked out perfectly because the next chapter had to do with the arts, so I worked performing arts vocabulary into a wonderful discussion day about the movie. They really loved watching it. (There is a packet that you can buy on teachers pay teachers to go with it)

I loved this movie when I was younger, so I bought it to show to my Spanish1 and 2 classes as part of a Sports unit and they loved it! It's a great movie to show to talk about the importance of sports, especially soccer, in Mexico.

This movie went over very well in a middle school Spanish class. The plot was predictable, but that was a plus with Spanish learners. There was a good mix of "book" Spanish and slang. The story has a lot of easy to understand language and humor. My daughter-in-law, the teacher, has a hard time finding films that are G rated, age appropriate, have a good level of language proficiency for the class, yet still interest wriggly middle-schoolers. The classes giggled throughout the film. Better yet, they understood the Spanish! This was a solid hit!

This fun and inspiring movie shows that hard work, dedication, and a great leader are all a group of young misfit soccer players from Mexico need in order to bring their little town together for the Copa Coca Cola championship. This movie demonstrates Mexico’s passion for soccer and themes include the importance of education, family, role models, and friendship. Not Rated

My high school students LOVED this and laughed out loud frequently throughout. I was a bit apprehensive about their interest, but they were hooked! Some even left saying it was their new favorite movie. It is longer than an hour which is how it was listed. If I recall correctly it's 120 minutes. :) TOTALLY WORTH IT!

we love this movie it is the second time that we buy it but I think there is something wrong with the DVD because there is a part where it jumps to another scene. :-( We still watch it every other day.The second copy I ordered is for a present. I still have not given it to the boy I really hope that one doesn't have the glitch. :-|Thanks.
