Does this clay crack or stay moist when it dries?

It does not crack but it does not stay moist. It dries firm like a ceramic item, but it is brittle and easy to break so you have to be gentle with the finished dried creation.

Would this clay be alright outside and survive the heat of the sun or rain??

i made this with crayola air clay n it sits outside cuz we use it outside so far its fine but i also mod podge it then use clear gloss spray a few hands of both.

What can you do to make it water prof? Would using mod podge work?

I use mod podge for mine and it works great. I'd recommend waiting until clay is 100% dry before applying or else you risk it peeling. It won't make it completely water proof but mostly water resistant. I know mod podge sealer has different sheens, but I've only used the gloss finish so it might be a different case depending.
