Pacific Foods Organic Free Range Chicken Broth, 32 oz Carton (Case of 12)

My local grocery used to carry this brand but, like so many other healthy foods, they've stopped. They say they're willing to order for me, but that hasn't worked out well. I was pleased to find this product on Amazon (and on Prime, so free shipping for me - yippee!). The broth was delivered in a sturdy packing box, well packed and arrived with no damage. The products have a one-year shelf date, which is a relief. I've ordered other things in bulk that seemed to be far too close to the use-by date to be sold in bulk. I use chicken and vegetable broth a lot - more than I'd want to make homemade broth for, no matter how superior it might be (and it is). This is a reasonable substitute for maintenance foods - the soups that get me through the winter months, the casseroles that make up the bulk of my work lunches (and breakfasts, truth be told). The flavor is easily better than any of the major brands. If it's too bland for you, you can always add more salt, garlic or a bouquet garni. I personally like the less salty varieties like this because I can use it in less savory dishes, like pumpkin soup without it tasting overwhelmingly of chicken/pumpkin soup. In short, this broth is a busy cook's delight. Always make your own from scratch in you can and if you have freezer space to store it. If you're like me, with limited time and freezer space, this is the next best bet.

Black pepper, which I like, is my nemesis in the spice world. Black pepper is an 18-24 hour migraine sitting on ready for me, as well as complete swelling of my entire body resulting in stiffness, confusion and muscle aches. FINALLY, there is a store-bought broth I can use that causes no reactions!!!!! Plus, the flavor is delicious without all the added ingredients other companies put in their broths...and that includes many well-known, organic broths. One day these companies will hopefully realize that there is a growing population of those allergic to black pepper. Some of us can consume white pepper (same plant just different stage of maturity) without those harsh reactions. So grateful for this broth!!!

Great to cook with or drink along.

I rarely take the time to give a Review and even more rarely give a Review that I would consider the Best of the Best. This is one of them. "Pure" chicken flavor and I feel like health is streaming through my veins, I am not much of a "soup person" but I am becoming one thanks to high quality products such as this.. The only negative would be it is quite price-y and if not for that fact I would be drinking/eating it every day. Oh! And I've decided from now on when I DO post a Review...especially one with a 5-star rating such as this, that I will make it perfectly clear that I did NOT get the product for free nor at a reduced rate for my "honest" opinion. Those are Reviews I ignore and Amazon is saturated with such. I have already purchased two complete cases of this and will continue to do so.... as long as the company does not keep raising the price so that it becomes unaffordable.

pacific is a quality company with excellent ingredients. I have some allergies and food sensitivity so I have to be careful what I am using in my cooking. I have never been disappointed with this product whether making soup, sauces or just having a cup of warm broth when I am under the weather. This product is on repeat delivery.
