Best form of hair removal I’ve tried!! 🙌
I want to preface this by saying that I am a hairier than average female due to PCOS issues. My body hair can be thick and dark and grows very quickly. I’ve been shaving since I was 9 years old and always got razor burn and irritation and the shave never lasted long. I did so much research on hair removal and as I grew older I tried different methods but faced the same issues. Granted I’ve never tried laser because it’s out of my budget. I tried waxing which wasn’t terrible in terms of pain and while it did last me almost 2 weeks, when there was hair I missed that I’d just pluck or shave, it grew back unevenly and shaving over skin that’s barely growing back after waxing was painful and caused more ingrowns. I disliked having the extra expense of purchasing wax beads constantly. Not to mention the MESS that comes with waxing at home when you’re not a professional! Sugaring was probably the best hair removal method I tried because it truly thinned out the hair that came back and took some time, it was sparse and I felt my skin looked great but making the wax out of sugar, Lemon and water everytime from scratch took so much trial and error to get the perfect consistency for my skin needs. Purchasing the ready made sugaring stuff was always a hit or miss. I’m also someone who runs warm so as I’d sugar the hair, the sugar would start to melt into my skin and became unusable regardless of my sitting right in front of the AC! I will admit with any hair removal method I always had terrible irritation so when it grew back I would get painful Ingrown hair despite having skin care and exfoliation routines to combat that so I finally just gave up on hair removal all together and would only shave the hair when necessary like when I’d wear dresses or skirts and especially during the hot months when it’s not really an option to wear pants. For a few years I let most of my body hair run wild and let it be but as I started to enter the dating world of course I wanted to be smooth and wear my more feminine clothes. Overall I wanted to feel more aesthetically feminine so I got back into shaving but the irritation was horrible as expected and I gave up again until I found this! This is my first epilator ever. I read about how painful epilating was and always decided against purchasing one but I’m glad I gave this a chance! Sure it does feel more painful than any hair removal method I’ve personally tried but the lack of ingrowns, skin irritation and burns I have afterwards make this so worth it. This was terrific in terms of price and works fine. I do have to go over skin a few times to make sure I get everything and yes as far as irritation goes I get the little raised bumps for a short time it goes away within hours, but I’ll take that to ingrowns and razor burns and itchiness! My skin feels genuinely smooth and I don’t have the same strawberry legs and pores that shaving gives me! The more you do it the more you get used to the pain. My recommendation is to epilate at least a day before you want to bare the skin. My only complaint is the power cord comes off quite easily. For folks who have overstimulation issues, this is quite loud. Personally, I use headphones and watch something to take my mind off the pain and noise. Overall, I have nothing but admiration and respect for people who epilate because it can be a doozy! Cheers to smoother skin and a raised pain tolerance. 🍸

Beauty is Pain
I wont lie to you, this sucker hurts, especially on areas of more sensitive skin. However, it works like a charm and I am OBSESSED with it. Listen, I'm a girl who suffers from PCOS and excessive body hair. I am also a professional cosmetologist and I have access to various high quality and professional hair removal methods. Hear me out: I hate shaving because it causes ingrown hairs and makes my facial hair grow back darker and thicker and much more obvious. I have used DOZENS of different shaving methods an still have this issue. Having someone else wax my face is expensive, especially for someone like me who genuinely needs it on a 10-14 day cycle. I can, and do wax myself at home, but hard wax or soft wax, it is very time consuming, messy, and expensive to buy the products needed as frequently as I need to use them. I am not over exaggerating; I grow a TON of hair ridiculously fast. Of course, tweezing each individual hair is even more time consuming and I have reached a point in my life in which trying to keep up with my own hair growth just to feel female is completely overwhelming. I decided to give this epilator a try and I am HOOKED. It is such an easy, simple, mess-free and speedy way to remove my facial and body hair without killing my bank account! It pulls the hairs right out like a wax, providing a longer-lasting hairlessness than shaving. It's like a ton of electric tweezers all moving together to grab multiple hairs at once. It even cleans the peach fuzz! I can't lie, it's not painless. I always hate waxing my upper lip because it hurts like the dickens and this was much worse in terms of pain, especially because you can feel it snagging each individual hair instead of one quick rip like wax. I am so desperate for the hair to be gone in a more manageable way though, and it is so 100% worth it for me to endure a few minutes of discomfort so that I can enjoy multiple days of smoothness. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially with so many more modern forms of hair removal today, but I seriously couldn't be happier with the results. No woman should have a beard like man, haha!

Advice & Review Philip’s Epilator
Okay I’m breaking this review into two parts, for those looking for advice read part one, for those looking for a product review read part two! Part One: It HURTS. I read the reviews and thought people were being dramatic, they are not… but they also aren’t lying when they say it gets better. If you are planning on using this every where my biggest piece of advice is start with just the armpits, they hurt the worst so everywhere else feels like a breeze after. Take a HOT bath or shower before and exfoliate really well. It’s best to use the first few times at night. If you are of age grab a glass of wine or two and make sure you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Go slowly and take your time. I find it’s easier to do in chunks, rather than strips like you would shaving. One thing I wish I had done looking back is taking it one area at a time; I full sent and did pretty much my whole body and was SO uncomfortable. While you are here also grab some witch hazel for after, you will need it. I like T.N. Dickinson’s the most. ALSO if you are prone to hives/have eczema or other related issues BE CAREFUL, the first time I had a solid histamine reaction, if you have red bumps and swelling take a benadryl and give your body a break. Part Two: I am an epilator baby so this is the only product I have owned, but it gets the job done. I haven’t had any major issues with it grabbing skin and it’s relatively comfortable to use. It is corded, but the cord is long and flexible. It has one head and cleaning tools included. It isn’t the most ergonomic product out of what i have looked at, so if you have accessibility issues it might not be the easiest to use. My biggest complaint is that it is LOUD. I mean it makes my hair dryer seem quiet kind of loud, but other than that, solid product, arrived intact and haven’t had any issues more than a month later!

Perfect for first time users
If you’re on the fence and never used an epilator before, buy this one! It’s amazing. It actually is pretty gentle, I don’t have a large amount of leg hair to begin with, so that could play a part, but it wasn’t painful at all. Small and compact, super efficient. And a great price. Highly recommend.

For the low pain tolerance peeps
I, personally, have a very low pain tolerance. It doesn't take much for me to cry like a baby and back out. I bought this because I saw a bunch of reviews saying it barely hurt or it just stung. Lemme tell ya, as someone with low pain tolerance. This sucker hurts. While I love the results of super smooth skin, the process is not fun to go through. Still, it is very good at getting all the hair and making your skin feel silky smooth, doing so far more consistently than something like hair removal cream. I do recommend it, but, fair warning, if you're like me this WILL hurt.

Didn't work for me, but might work for you.
I bought this as Philips has a very good reputation, and while the quality of the product itself was quite good, it did not work for me. Pros: Cord length is very long, good for if you can't get near an outlet. No batteries to worry about recharging. Fits well in the hand and is comfortable to use. Cons: (for me at least) After trying several different positions and techniques, the best I could achieve was it breaking about 80% of hairs off and pulling out only 20%. It also gave me mild irritation, but I have very sensitive skin and all the irritation was gone by the next day. For me, I could achieve the same thing or better with just shaving, and without the pain and irritation. If you have thin hair and no sensitive skin, it would probably work great. In the areas where I had the thinnest hair it worked best, pulling out about 80% of the hairs. It just struggled on moderate to thick areas of hair.

Very effective…!!!
Excellent, I use small numbing cream and powder my skin prior to epilation. No pain at all and it takes very less time. Only thing is before using first time and if hair is thick on arms and legs, use hair removal cream, wait a week or two until the epilator can catch the growing hair. Then the epilator can be used for maintenance every other week or so. Love this product, highly recommend.

Great for price
Good product and does rip the hairs out!! Epilators are never painless so don't ever expect that. But after using it multiple times you will get used to it.

Rápido y facil para remover el bello de raíz, duele un poco al principio pero después te acostumbras y no sientes molestias.

Expensive, over priced and painful to use.
It hurts to use this product....It fails to do what it says and the cost is ridiculous for the product itself.

Buen producto
