Old book but still useful
Even though this book dates back to 2007, I found it applicable and more helpful than newer books in preparing my applications to graduate school in Psychology 16 years later! Very happy I purchased it!

Really helpful and covers everything!
This book is a really great addition to any students collection of resources for getting into graduate school (even if it is the only one you buy). True, much of the information can be obtained from other sources (such as websites), but it is ALL there, well organized in one little book! I would recommend using multiple sources in your search for the best way to get into whatever program you are applying for, but this book should probably be included. Has great explanations of all types of issues you might confront when looking at applying to graduate school. Great advice and timelines for the undergraduate years, whether you are a freshman or a senior starting to think about graduate school (but start early if you can).Good luck getting in!!!

The Ultimate Resource
This book is, hands-down, the best preparatory instrument I have encountered over the course of planning a graduate education in psychology. Anyone planning to apply to psychology graduate programs NEEDS this book. It is far more than just a checklist for graduate applications, as the title first suggested to me. I found this book to be useful in defining my personal goals, identifying my own strengths and skill sets, and creating a carefully thought-out template for my applications to Clinical Psychology PhD programs. As a "non-traditional student" with a master's degree in psychology already under my belt, I was surprised by just how much I needed to read this book before preparing my applications. It is an excellent tool for both the focusing/narrowing down stage of the application process, and in preparing the applications themselves.

Essential, easy read.
I recently graduated as an undergraduate and got a job in the business world. Needless to say it is not what I had in mind. I am seriously looking to go back to school as soon as possible but I feel a bit lost and cut off, now that I have graduated and moved away from school. I just picked this book up a couple of days ago and I have already learned so much about how to prepare myself for applying to grad school. There is some very valuable information in this book that you will not likely find elsewhere. It is a great, essential read and you would be hindering yourself if you did not read it.

Great Reference
I used it for my masters program that I applied to and helped build my confidence knowing at least partially what they are looking for when I was submitting my application.

This is a easy to read step-by-step plan of action for getting into grad schools that any psychology major would find useful. Despite being a few years old, the advice and information provided are still very useful for the current grad school admissions process. I recommend to all.

A good resource
This book is indisputably a great resource. However, I felt that too much basic, basic information was included. A good deal of the book is information that an undergrad student in PSYC should already know...especially if he/she is truly to be prepared for grad-level work. Weeding out those things, there were some great insights and data.
