A Zen Wave: Basho's Haiku and Zen

There are probably a hundred and one books on Basho you can buy, but American Zen master Robert Aitken's book was one of the first and still the best. Keep it next to a volume of Basho's verse, along with Makoto Ueda's book 'Basho and his Intrepreters' and nothing else need burden your bookshelf.

Many are called but few arrive - this series of comments and explanations of Basho's haiku make this a most interesting and informative book.
