Upper scatter gaurd fits ferret nation 183
the top scatter guard works amazing for ferret nation 183 this one was super easy to install and was easy to put on the tray(btw) it's easier to install the panels with the tray outside the cage .. I think I read something that someone was trying to do it while the pan was in the cage.. I'm pleased with the fit. When putting together they're a tab you bend it to help secure it. The bottom scatter gaurd I had a slight issue with the first one Item side gaurds are too big by a half inch to 1/4 inch on the sides can't install it to my pan for my ferret nation 181. some of the pieces were slightly damaged but the boxes are not. Was returned before Im thinking? for the same issue because of the damage on the part that snap together. I ordered another one it was slightly better but still a little too big on the side, it doesn't fit in the pan on one side and sits up causing a gap. Maybe I'll order another and see if I have the same issue for the bottom scatter gaurd. If so I'll probably modify it to fit correctly.

Accurate measurements
Finally found a cover for my cage. I'm not sure why it's so hard to find ones for bird cages when they're supposed to be covered at night. I don't have the same brand of cage but it has similar measurements. It's a little big which is okay. I have perches and his light on the outside so snug wouldn't work anyway. It looks better than my blanket and sheets over the cage. Easier to get in as well. It also makes moving it a bit easier since I don't have to worry about the wheels getting stuck in it. It's a good value for your money. The cheapest option I could find that would actually cover my whole cage. The build quality is a bit cheap. I have zip ties on my cage and I'm afraid they'll rip it. My green cheek was also immediately interested in the Velcro. The door opening is fine if you can just toss it in top. My light is up there however and I have to put it off to the side.

Perfect!
Exactly what I needed for my Ferret nation Midwest cage (I have added hardware cloth to the outside since I have juvenile rats) the shelf is covered with the fleece I use but it's the exact same wire shelf with a plastic tray as what I already had. So now I have the ability to add a 3rd shelf or in my case I use it so I can put the new fleece cover on the shelf in my hand and then make it faster when changing bedding since my curious little rats will try to get in the way if you're not really quick. So whether you are ordering to replace with cleaning or you just need an additional level, it will be the same size and cage side attachment as any ferret nation or critter nation cage. This is the metal support frame work that supports the plastic tray and the plastic tray together as well as super handy ladder clips. I mention this since for my purposes at this time I only needed the plastic tray but I was excited to get both since it gives me more options. I bought my ferret nation Midwest cage used so I have never known about the ladder clips and now I'm hoping I can order a couple of those alone and one replacement wheel. My cage is more than 5yrs old with lots of use (just an idea of durability).

Does the job
This very much does the job I need it to do. It keeps my ferrets from pooping over the edge of the tray since they think they must aim for the sky each and every time giving my newly painted wall a fresh crusty paint job. I do have a couple that pull on the edges and try to get behind it which is a bother, cause the sides come unattached easily. The clips go over and under the tray which is what holds it into place on all sides. The food that they spill out gets trapped under the edges so I have to be sure and lift when cleaning to get all the bits out. And once a week I remove the tray to clean trapped hair and mess behind and under. But the clips catch on the bars of the cage making it difficult to get out. Although I'd rather it be difficult to get out than easy for them to disassemble. I clean the cages daily with a vinegar, bleach and water spray and after time the coating is coming off and it rusts. This is becoming a big issue and I'm worried they are going to lick the rust. May try another option or brand of I can find one. I'm fine with it being flimsy, I just rather it not rust. I have 4 cages so the cost is up there for these. Please find a fix for that. Be sure to measure your tray. It fits well if you do. All in all, I much rather have these than not.

My Rats can No longer chew on the bottom tray!
This was exactly what I needed! I do not use this to keep loose bedding from spilling out the sides. We actually use Zilla Terrarium liners and Fleece. The reason I bought this is because I needed something that would stop the rats from chewing on the edge of the bottom tray and the Zilla Liners. They love chewing up the corners. This Scatter Guard works perfectly! The Scatter Guard was easy to assemble but I will not lie, it did take some bending and maybe even a little cursing trying to get the clips over the edge of the tray but I managed. I do not remove the Scatter Guard during cleaning. I wipe the inside edges down with baby wipes regularly and then when it comes time for a full cage cleaning I remove the doors of the Critter Nation cage and slide the bottom pan out. I take the whole thing, Scatter Guard and all, to the bath tub where it gets a good scrub down. I highly recommend this product as long as you are ok with not removing it to clean. I do not see the metal lasting long if you have to keep bending it to remove it and put it back in place. I have been using the same Scatter Guard for 5 months now and the way I have it set up I do not see me ever needing to buy another one. Highly recommend this product.

dosent fit on side of cage but can be ziptied
works great for adding depth to your cages used for my rats only problem i have is that it didnt fit on the side of the cage could only be hooked on back, so i just had to hook one side and ziptie the other functional but not optimal, i used 3 ties so its secure but would have preferd it to hook normally

Nope
Don't do it. It isn't worth the money, time or especially the frustration. The instructions are pretty much useless--I spent about an hour trying to make sense of them (and using every curse word I know, plus some I apparently made up just for the occasion) before getting completely frustrated and asking Google for tips. I didn't think there was any possible way I was assembling it correctly as no matter how many times I reread the instructions and rechecked my work, no matter how many curse words I threw at it, or no matter how many live sacrifices I offered it I just could not get the pieces to actually fit in the pan as they are supposed to. And since this product is made by the company that made the cage it claims to be for use with, it made more sense that I was doing something wrong (perhaps my live sacrifices were of the wrong species or the moon phase just wasn't quite right) than that the item just didn't fit the cage and pan. But after checking out a couple of YouTube videos I was reassured that the problem was NOT user error but poor design. There is literally no possible way to put the 4 sides of the scatter guard together and have the assembled guard sit flat and flush with the bottom of the plastic litter pan. One corner of the guard always sits higher than the rest on the lip of the pan instead of resting on the bottom of the pan. Also, the "clips" that are supposed to hold the metal guard pieces to the plastic pan are easy to accidentally break off or mangle beyond use. And since the only possible way the guard can fit in the cage is for the guard to sit mostly inside the bottom edge of the plastic pan some amount of litter will always find its way under the guard in its quest for freedom. It is actually stunning how poorly this item is designed given it is NOT an off-brand accessory. In the end I stashed the pieces of the scatter guard on the bottom shelf of the cage and went to my local national chain home improvement store where I purchased a large cement mixing tub that I coerced into the bottom of the cage. It was cheaper and didn't require any live sacrifices to make work. Do a Google search for Critter Nation Cement Mixing Tub for more information (also it is NOT necessary to trim the mixing tub to get it to fit in the bottom of the CN cage, just work it a bit until it is solidly in and the doors can shut-- to clean just use a dustpan to scoop everything out and wipe down with a pet safe cleanser).

It helps to keep in the cage what supposed to be there.
Ok. I do have Ferret Nation cage and it was horrible because the pan was shallow and bedding was always around the cage. Plus everyone knows that the ferrets do they pooping stuff in the corners so when the ”parking back” they can miss corner, like overflow it and sometimes stool get between the cage and the pan. Sorry for all this details. So I was looking for something to make some kind of pee guard around and to keep bedding at least 90% in the cage. Of course better to buy special metal pans, but they do expensive. Unfortunately I didn't have extra $250 to improve my cage. So.... Some one show me this one guards. Of course it’s not exactly fit my cage but still it's fit and now my life is much easier. The majority of the bedding is inside the cage and all ferrets pooping inside too. Easy to clean, especially if you do it at least one's a day. You can see on a pictures that there is still space between the pan and this guard. And one more thing- I didn't realised how it supposed to be connect to existed cage so I simply used zip ties.

A solution to a problem they created.
The Critter Nation cage itself is fantastic, almost perfect except for the rubbish "tray" it comes with. A tray that allows the substrate to fly off everywhere. This item they have designed to be sold separately for a problem they themselves have manufactured, but it works, and works really well. A little flimsy but your pets (or your negligence) shouldn't break it any time soon.
