No regret purchase
[45 year old, 5’6”, 152 pound female]Some perspective—- I purchased this weighted blanket after having purchased an 8 pound, 12 pound and 15 pound blanket from Amazon. The 15 pound was my first weighted blanket purchase. It is the weight recommended for my body weight. After using it a few times, I found it to be too heavy for my liking; so, I purchased the 12 pound weighted blanket. The 12 pound was a lot nicer and more comfortable for me. After enjoying the use of the 12 pound blanket, I decided I wanted a weighted blanket for napping and travel [because now I am having trouble sleeping without a weighted blanket lol]. I set out to purchase an 8 or 5 pound blanket. Amazon’s inventory was not satisfactory for me at the time for the 5 pounder; so, I ended up with the 8 pounder instead. LOVE IT. The 8 pound blanket is the one I use the most. Then I decided, I simply just want a 5 pound blanket. I searched Amazon for about 2 days for the best price, quality, duvet cover, etc. Eureka! I absolutely love this 5 pound weighted blanket. It’s actually one of the longer length of blankets in Amazon’s inventory for my height [at the time of purchase] I know I am a fully grown adult; but, if you are looking at this product for your toddler or child this will be perfect. It does not come with a cover but it does have tabs on it to at the a cover to it. It is a little bit rigid compared to my 8 pound and 12 pound blanket. This may all depend on the manufacturer. This blanket will bend ad move freely. Your child will be able to wrap up snuggly in this blanket. This is one of the few weighted blankets that I have come across that says it can be washed/laundered. I have not gotten to that point yet; however, when I do, I am definitely planning to use a small to medium front loader machine, cold water and Woolite or Woolite dark—-a mild soap. I think it would be best to wash it all by itself rather than with like materials. I will try that way first. I am a little bit nervous about putting the 5 pound weighted blanket in the clothes dryer though. Right now, I’m thinking I’ll do medium heat until the blanket is halfway dry then, hang it up to completely dry it.Note to parents: at first glance you may think there are no glass beads in this blanket; but, there are. As I said, this 5 pounder is designed for children rather than adults-as I am- so, for a child this will be a good weight. I only use this 5 pound weighted blanket when napping in the recliner chair or when I just want to cozy up in the chair; but, for a child, this definitely could be a nighttime sleep through the night blanket. You can also travel with this blanket for your child without feeling like you’re toting around a burden of a product. Also, this blanket does not provide heat/warmth; so, I recommend pairing the blanket with another blanket underneath such as a thermal cotton, fleece or sherpa blanket....something like that. I also find a down, or alternative down, throw to work best on top of the blanket with the thermal blanket underneath directly on the body. So, like a ‘sandwich’ effect.....blanket, weighted blanket, down/down alternative blanket. Lastly, if you are going to use this for a child, I highly recommend a cover, and/or, some kind of a water repellent spray-like for camping tents and shoes. The shell/material of this blanket is sturdy cotton and will soak up spills and oils and such.

comfy, affordable, durable
I've been using this weighted blanket for a few days and I have to say I'm impressed. Most weighted blankets have quilted squares with seams parallel to the blanket edges, not in a diamond pattern like this one. The advantage with the diamond pattern is that the diamonds near edges of the blanket are not weighted, making it easy to pull up to your neck for warmth without feeling pressure on your throat from the beads. I've found this configuration also helps it stay on the bed and your body instead of falling off in the middle of the night. I find the weight very relaxing and comforting, like a hug. The outer material feels smooth and decently soft, it definitely feels like it would stand up to a wash. It also has loops to attach to a cover, I know Finslep has a pink cover available that has a few extra pounds of weight, and I'm very interested to see if more weight would feel even more relaxing.I have a foam mattress topper and over the summer I've routinely woken up fairly hot even with only a thin microfiber blanket. It has been pretty hot this week but I never felt overheated under this blanket. Overall if you want to try a good budget weighted blanket, this is an excellent choice.

weight blanket
I purchased the 15#. The blanket is well made, tight stitching, not itchy on my skin. I like that there isn't any of the beads in the outer portion as I tend to pull a blanket up to my face. I wasn't prepared for the weight of it...I thought for sure they sent me a heaver blanket but weighted it and it was exactly 15#. I use it to get close to falling asleep and switch to another blanket as I get too warm, but it should feel great when the cold winter sets in for Ohio.

Evenly heavy, smooth fabric, great feel!
When I go to the dentist and they put the lead jacket on me before X rays, I want to snuggle under it and take a nap. This blanket is just like that, except the at-home version.I purchased the 15 lb grey version. The fabric is smooth and soft, with the weight evenly spaced due to the quilting. The corners have small tabs to attach to whatever you'd like - I imagine if it's too close to the edge of the bed, it may slide off once it's past the even point.I normally sleep with a couple blankets, even in summer, so I though the weighted one would be a good solution year round. It'll take some effort to get the right balance of weight and temperature, but it was very soothing last night when I tried it for the first time.Update: The weather is turning to fall, so I need extra blankets. Adding this adds enough weight to make me feel warmer, and definitely traps the heat inside the covers. It seems to be helping me sleep better, too.

Great Buy
I purchased the 15 pound 60x80 weighted blanket. It arrived quickly. I am 5' 7" and I can cover myself to shoulders with extra fabric to spare. The weights inside are distributed nicely thru out the blanket. It is sewn together well and seems to be very sturdy. It feels like in addition to the weights there is down feathers in the squares which makes the blanket very comfy and warm. This is the first weighted blanket I have tried and I'm very pleased with it. Its neat how when you pick it up it feels heavy but when laid across the body it feels just right. My 14 year old tried and 4 year old tried it out as well and it was not to heavy for them.
