Very Nice Lap Steel
Very nice instrument. String spacing is perfect, easy to play. Build quality is excellent. The fret board is real wood about a 1/4 inch thick, not a plastic overlay. The active pick-up sounds nice and the EQ is useful. There are four knobs, one volume, one tone, one EQ sweep and a fourth knob that doesn't seem to do much of anything. There were no instructions to refer to, nor could I find anything online about it. The scale is 22.5 inches which is the standard. Useful if you do a lot of bar slants. They could offer a version with a 24.5 scale as there is plenty of room to extend it if they move the control pots. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Nice sounding and looking Lap Steel
I just wanted to illustrate the 2 versions of the same Model being sold. It plays and sounds nice but may not be exactly as pictured, as shown in the illustration. This review is not to insult ar teardown but merely to show the differences between the 2 versions of the same model. The seller is not at fault nor is this about that, only just cosmetical appearance and the version you may receive! Ether way you will enjoy the Lap steel as a great learning experience or especially if your already a seasoned player.

Some good, some bad.
Bad stuff first:The backpack straps on the bag are crap. Don't trust them or you will lose the guitar. The frets are improperly marked. One octave has 12 frets. The other octave has 13 frets. The retainers for the strings stick out from the bottom and will scuff the dickens out of any table you set this on. Do not set this guitar on a table that you like. The steel that comes with this guitar cannot cover all the strings simultaneously. Maybe I'm stupid, but given that this guitar is in an unusual size, it seems like you would want a steel that is designed for it. Oh well. The goodIt is prettyIt plays well. The "I'm not sure what to say"For whatever reason, the lowest string always plays like crap. It is entirely possible that this is my fault, though.

Beautiful to the eyes and the ears.
This guitar is very well made. It's super solid, it stays in tune well, has amazing tonal options, and it looks as great as it sounds. Some people seem to be confused as to what the knobs do so I made a little diagram to show what the knobs do. The coil-split knob is incredible. I've never seen a guitar with this feature before. All the way clockwise you get a humbucker sound and all the way counter-clockwise you get a single-coil tone. but you can blend between the single-coil and humbucker tones and get a variety of different tones. It's really incredible. I don't know why more guitars don't have this option. I think down the road ill upgrade the pickup but that's just because I like customizing guitars. there really isn't anything wrong with the pickup that comes with the guitar at all.

Great Quality Lapsteel
Not a bit disappointed! Some are frustrated, saying the pickup doesn't cover the 1st string but the vibrancy is not lacking at all! Beautiful color, finish and tone! The only thing I would have loved is a tunable bridge, but that's on Vorson not the supplier. Have not been the least bit sorry for the purchase!

Unbiased review
I play lap steel and bought this to fool around with while home watching tv. DON’T judge any instrument because it has a nice finish. Here’s my review: the finish is very good. The volume and tone knobs worked once I figured out which was which as no instructions come with this instrument if you’re a beginner. But, there are 4 knobs! What do the other 2 knobs don’t? -very little. Good luck figuring it out. Try to get an answer somewhere about the logic of a seven pole pickup used on this 8 string steel. The volume balance is really noticably bad especially on the lower register strings. After seeing this flaw it was time to send it back. I’ve been teaching steel for years and my advice is,again, don’t by just because it looks really nice (and it does look nice). There are plenty of other steels available in this price range that are great - both new and used. If you’re a player/learner forget it. If you’re a person who will use it with full distortion and volume it could maybe work for you. This is not the instrument to use when backing a country singer or doing nice Western swing solos. Believe me, I don’t write reviews but had to write this one after being stiffed. I thank Amazon for their return policy. Don’t believe my review? Buy it.

Excellent
Nice lap guitar. I'm just learning but so far I have no complaints. The tone is much better than a less expensive one I purchased a couple of weeks earlier.

Very beutiful lap steel great sound.
While I would have preferred to have a more expensive bridge on my instrument I would have had to paid over 1000 dollars for the instrument. This is perhaps one of the best for under 1000 dollars I found.
