Great product
What can I say.. absolutely great product, cuts effortlessly due to the geared arrangement inside and the leverage of the cutting blade armature. Takes a little bit of getting used too with technique for holding and cutting. Although price may seem high I would say it’s actually good value for the money when compared to the others out there.. build quality is very good and backed up by 25year warranty. Reach is great and so is the weight considering, being able to turn the head also useful for awkward branches

Works VERY well
This thing is amazing, haven't compared it to others as I've not used one before but it's so EASY to cut things, it just makes it satisfying, was a bit sad I ran out of tree to prune. I needed the telescopic version but honestly it is a bit long to store easily, if the regular version was enough I'd probably have gone for that. Fair price for a great tool.

Very effective, even at maximum extension, but vastly overpriced.
Why did you choose this product over others?: Established brand with reputation for high quality products. Functionality: Very effective, even at maximum extension. Size: Very good reach. Durability: Remains to be seen, even after the first use, it looks a little battle worn! Value for money: Vastly overpriced. Extending capability: Very good, lock functions well, even at maximum extension the item is sturdy and very useable. Design: Overall very good, but I found the orange finger to be more of a hinderance than a help. Had to remove it, which was easy enough. The bottom end cap does come loose frequently, very annoying, could be better attached.

Handy piece of equipment to have
Superbe piece of equipment. Nicely engineered and it extends to considerable length. Need strong arms to hold when fully extended. A good buy.

Cutty cutty
This is a very impressive product. It is easy to use, lightweight, but powerful. Based on first few cuts it works well even fully extended and cuts through branches easily, including thick ones that only just fit in the jaws. What’s also great is that it is silent so doesn’t bother anyone with noise.

Rise to the occasion.
Very good. Chopped back reasonably chunky apple tree over-growth and other neglected high branch funkiness. There were other more exotic options that tried to seduce me (sawn-off chainsaw battery powered attachments etc.) for less, but I already have experience with this type of chopper. Buy for job you know. At 4 metres it is a good upper body work out. Standing up a ladder for extra reach, more so. I got everything needed done in my Mum's garden. Was going to buy the fruit picker attachment, but mañana. Tips so far? -Adjust length as necessary otherwise it is unwieldy and frustrating. -Rest on your hip for extra support. -For intertwined branches, chop short lengths. -You can use the jaws as a grip to remove branches in a controlled manner. -Store indoors and keep the guard. -Most important, when finished, a cup of tea and jam doughnut (14 seconds in the microwave) and feel pleased with yourself. Oh, and obvious H&S stuff like make sure your ladder is super stable as men of a certain age perched upon ladders is already heading in to dicey teritory. P.S. Agree with other reviewer: the orange bit was more of a hindrance. I understand why it's there (visual aid), but when you are pushing through multiple branches to reach one further back/up, it gets in the way

Very Well Designed and Extremely Good Quality
I received this today and was cutting branches on our Cherry Blossom Tree almost straight out of the box. Extending was very stiff at first but a light silicon spray soon had things gliding smoothly. Full extension was impressive but the weight caught me out a little and it took a few minutes to find the right technique, but overall this is a very well designed and good quality tree pruner, well worth the money and easy to see why it has been around for such a long time. This will save a lot of money in the long-term when compared to hiring people to do this simple job. Highly recommended.

Excellent Pole Pruner
Very good product, well designed. Unlike some other products where you have to use one hand to pull the rope leaving just the other to support the pole, with this one the mechanism slides down the pole so you keep hold of it with both hands, which is really useful when working at maximum length. It is more expensive than the alternatives, but is worth it in my opinion. Cuts through substantial branches with ease. Drops a star because of the pruning saw which I also purchased, don't bother, it's nice and sharp but too flexible and jumps around too much to be effective
