Before you purchase these, be very clear that they are not designed to allow your shoes to flex. They are designed to make the shoes stiff if you have a foot injury. They are actual carbon fiber, so trimming them isn't going to be easily done either. If you're looking for insoles to help you recover from a foot injury and want them to virtually eliminate bending of your shoes/feet while walking they will definitely do the job!

These insoles are designed to go below your shoe insole, they add no height, but they are great for foot support, you need to remove the shoe insole, put these in and the insole you took out on top of these.

Picked this out for my son to insert into his football cleats. He sprained his to (turf toe) while playing football two years ago and it’s been a slow recovery since he’s a three sport athlete. He easily removed the original insole, placed this one inside the cleat and reinserted the insole. He feels the extra support in his shoes and I’m hoping this will help prevent further agitation. I may need to get more of these for his basketball and baseball shoes even though it mostly bothers him during football while playing on artificial turf.

I'm wearing these right now. They add a nice spring to my step and have eased my foot discomfort. The inserts are durable and well-made. At this price (about $16 at the time of this review) it is worth buying several pairs to put in multiple pairs of shoes.

These insoles are hard and rigid. They do not bend -- at all. Also not padded or soft. I actually like them to add some firmness to very casual shoes that bend too much. This size fit my size 9 women's shoes well.
