A powerful focal length reducer.
I'm trying to make a digital 'finder' scope for my astronomical telescope, with a Raspberry Pi HQ camera mounted to a 300mm x 80mm lens, feeding directly into Astrometry plate solving software. Due to the small sensor size and high resolution the field of view is very small and the background noise is a bit too high to solve reliably. fitting this 20mm in front of the camera doubles the FoV, so there will be 4x as many stars in the image and the noise should be dropped by 6dB. Fingers crossed!

I have used this on my Celestron C70 travel scope and 8SE and it does what you expect for a reducer of this size. Moon views and photography were crisp and clear. First attempt at Orion Nebula was actually striaghtforward. This is a first pass opinion but this is an entry level lens, so far so good. This is probably a good purchase for a beginner astronomer. I will see how it performs for more complex photography although this was not my initial aim. However am not sure if this is compatible with all telescope types. Check first.

Neutral review. Not compatible with Newtonian's
From the product description, at the time of purchase, you would think this is compatible with all telescopes but it needs about 10" of back focus to get into focus. Might be compatible with cassegrain's and some refractor's so long as the back focus has 10" of travel. I cannot comment on the performance of the optics as I was unable to focus with my Newtonian. The extra stars are for a) the great customer support received from the seller ( A++) and b) so people can see it.

Buy cheap buy twice
Item returned - couldn’t get a full disc moon through the lens and also wouldn’t focus. Also when it came the lens was caked in dust which I had to clean off

Anche se economico e' un ottimo prodotto. Provato sul campo ed e' ottimo sulla mia web cam. Le immagini sono dettagliate e sinceramente sembrano migliori se montato. Lo consiglio . Ovviamente ai principianti come me.

Il riduttore focale svolge perfettamente il suo compito, però ho notato che tende ad introdurre il coma sui bordi del campo visivo.Nonostante questo, il risultato finale è gradevole e più che valido, considerando la fascia di prezzo.
