Made myself a HotTub setup and man this thing did not disappoint!!

The first one was installed by a reputable bathroom specialist - Does complete bathroom make-overs with spas/jacuzzi's - After installation - Everything ready to go and worked perfectly - Filled tub with hot water - and good to go - So I thought - The next morning it was cold - Pump was working - can't tell if the heater was or not - no light or display to let you know. He came back and checked the flow switch, the pressure, the electrical, which was hardwired, All good - He bypassed the flow switch and no heat - He informed me the heater is defective - Amazon replaced the heater right away - Swapped out heaters and - again NO heat. Now the bathromm project is now finished and the spa parts are not in the middle of the floor - so each time is a small project to access the heater, neve rmind having to keep re-installing them. He took out the 2nd one and had it checked - He came back and informed me they tested the heater and the coils are not heating up - The ohms reading between the coil terminal was infinite - meaning no good. I sent both heaters back and we are going to use a different one. Don't know the official problem - But BEWARE OF THIS HEATER - The expense and dedicated electrical wiring and the extra man and hours, not to mention the aggravation and frustration far out way any benefits or comfort this heater could provide.

Works great easy to install. last about a year or 2 but that's all I've gotten out of any heater.

Decent pump for the price. Cheap parts inside. Requires some ingenuity to get it connected to my drop stitch inflatable hot tub. The flow component switch to engage the heater was not engaging with my 1 hp flow pump. (Installation requires a 0.5 hp pump or greater) I was able to safely engage the flow switch to the on position to stay on all the time and the pump heats the tub very well. I have a relxtime 250 gallon tub.

As a flow type water heater it works well. As a thermostat controlled water heater it is junk. The thermostat went out a couple weeks after I installed it. I bypassed the thermostat and manage the on/off with automation. The flow detection works well, the heater is on when my spa pump is on, which is fine for me. The thermostat on this flow heater is rated at 15amps(internal label), yet the heater element takes about 20 amps. As you can guess, it won’t last long, as others here reported, reliability is poor. You can find this same device on EBAY for $35 so I guess someone is dumping them. I took it apart to figure out how it works since the warranty is like 30 days.

So far, it’s been terrible. Waste of time and energy. I’m hoping I just got a lemon because the one I got last year worked good. These units last about a year and that’s it.
