Lovely presentation book with the 3 CDs
Absolutely brilliant, the best of Erasure. This is a must for any Erasure fan. There is a mix of old and new on here and the new version of "Sometimes" is really good too. I have seen them in concert so many times and have been listening to their music since I first heard of them back in the 80's in my disco days. In my opinion Erasure just get better both in concert and in their music. It is timeless and I hope they never stop making music. I have followed their amazing journey is mind boggling that they are one of a few bands that has managed to survive the struggles of this type of industry and seem to be stronger now than they ever have been.To think they have been around for 30 years makes me realise how old I am getting LOL when I first heard them in 1985 I was completely hooked. I think Andy Bell could sing the phonebook and I would be happy. I am genuinely thrilled to have this and I know it may not be to everyones taste, especially if you already have all their albums but I am pleased with this. The presentation and extras (Free MP3 version) are amazing too.The cover is really nice and the whole presentation of this is great. It has clear plastic on it when it arrived and inside is the 3 discs in a CD size hard cover book. As you open it the first think you see is the first cd neatly inside a sleeve, 10 double pages of the description of the tracks with photographs of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke taken over the years and a short story covering their friendship and their career so far. It is really nice and some of the pages have quotes on such as "Like all good pop it's applicable to any time, and any place."A quick snippet from Tim Burrows who contributed in the intro: "When asked about what has made his and Andy's friendship click, Vince answer is unequivocal, if inevitable: "Respect".For me this is a treat and I am thrilled to have it, I am sure most fans would be pleased with it and the choice of music on the 3 CDs are great. The size is 12.5cm x 14cm and is hard cover.I have added quite a few pictures that I hope will be helpful.

The Very Best of Erasure......Mostly
The Very Best of Erasure is chock full of many hits and a splendid 2 disc's worth of remixes. Now putting out a collection from a group that is celebrating 30 years worth of recording is always a dicey proposition. However Mute/BMG overall has done a stellar job. On disc 1 choosing their early hits is easier than choosing the later hits. Andy Bell admitted this is a recent interview. For the casual listeners, many didn't know that Erasure was still actively recording into the decades of 2000 and 2010. So the latter part of their career is less represented on disc 1.When choosing remixes for discs 2 and 3 the task is even more daunting. But this is the only hits collection ever put out that includes remixes from across their career and I must say for the most part I applaud the choices. One reason is because Mute/BMG mostly chose remixes that retain the melody and spirit of the original recordings. The only 2 remixes of the 23 that I believe were mistakes are the Blue Savannah (Der Deutsche Mix II) and Be with You (Starshapes Remix). Blue Savannah is one of their most beautiful songs and the chosen remix by Gareth Jones and Fischerman's Friend removes most of the original melody. If Mute/BMG had chosen the much sought after and rare Out of the Blue Mix by Shep Pettibone, sales of this collection would have been even more impressive. Also the Moto Blanco remix of Be With You is far superior to the Starshapes Remix and takes a good song and transforms it into a great song. Maybe the U.S. version of this Very Best of collection will include the Out of the Blue remix of Blue Savannah since it was the U.S. record label Elektra Records or Sire Records that commissioned the Out of the Blue mix in the first place. The other aspect of this collection that is interesting is including remixes of songs that aren't a part of the hits disc 1. So Am I Right?, Run to the Sun, Freedom and Be With You are included as remix tracks only.Unlike some of the comments about the sound quality, I found all 3 discs to sound excellent. According to the liner notes the hits disc 1, Mute used the 2009 remasters from Total Pop! The First 40 hits for 17 of the 20 tracks. Now the waiting begins for the supposed career spanning box set in 2016. Let's hope Mute/BMG remaster all of the catalog including Wild, Chorus, I Say I Say, Erasure, Cowboy, Cracker's International and beyond using the 3 disc format that makes this release so collectible.
